If a Surf Camp in Lagos is your choice this year, this is the largest town on the West Coast of The Algarve and even the most dedicated foodie will struggle to get around half the restaurants in their stay. Here are our 5 top rated cheap to mid-range options (in no particular order).
1.ADEGA DA MARINA
Avenida Dos Descobrimentos 35, Lagos
Situated on the main Avenida this is THE main restaurant for good cheap food and wine. The largest and most popular restaurant in Lagos. Be prepared to Queue in summer. Best for Garlic Prawns, Piri Piri Chicken and Steak.
2.ADEGA TIPICA A FORJA
Rua Ferreiros 15/7 Lagos 8600-727
AKA The Blue Door, located up a little side street from the main Square, this is a hidden gem - very small, always busy and popular with locals. A traditional Portuguese Cuisine so fresh fish with salad and rice is a great choice. Reserve or go early.
3.NAH NAH BAR Travessa do Forno, 11 Lagos
A cool hangout with a great vibe. This is a must for burgers, pastas and cocktails. Try their Kilo burger if you dare and if you finish the lot, you get it for free!
ONDE NORTE Largo Salazar Muscoso Lote 3B Lagos
Fabulous Portuguese Cuisine minutes walk from Casa Offshore Surf Camp. Go there starving and avoid starters unless you have a huge appetite. Fresh Salmon and Surf n Turf are to die for. Save yourself for dessert thought, best in town!
