If you're looking for a place to learn to surf or simply indulge in a hot surf holiday, then check out one of the best surf camps Portugal-La Point in Ericeira.  New to surfholidays.com for 2013, we've teamed up with the inspiring surf camp so we can all get into the ocean and enjoy surfing even more.

When it comes to surfing, location is everything- and La Point is found at one of the best surf destinations in Europe: Ericeira.  In 2011 it was awarded the prestigious World Surf Reserve title, one of only three in the world... and it's easy to see why with its coastline of surf breaks, and stunning natural beauty.  There are even nine surf beaches along its shores.

Ericeira town itself has managed to stay clear of becoming a gaudy tourist town, and instead has kept its fishing village roots.  When you're not surfing explore the quaint bars and restaurants found along the waterfront, or hidden in amongst the cobblestone streets.

The surf at Ericeira is ideal for all levels of surfing.  At La Point surf camp they teach beginners all the way through to those looking to improve their technique.  The surf house itself has views of the beach Foz do Lizandro (ideal for beginners), and is only 15 minutes walk into the centre of town.  It's easy going and friendly set up is ideal for solo travellers or groups, as they can sleep up to fifty people at a time, and have massive grounds for activities and socialising.

Your average surf school day would consist of breakfast (included in their packages) with your surf buddies, then either a morning or an afternoon two hour surf session with your instructor and group.  The classes are designed to teach you everything you need to know, whether it's the real basics, or honing your technique.  Either way you'll be catered for perfectly.

As part of your day, you can mix and match where you want to get lunch, as there are facilities on site, or you can explore the town for more local cuisine.  Then when it comes to evenings, the site is designed for you to either take it easy and relax, or if you're feeling social- La Point's staff even organize nights out.  So the main decision to make with it all is when do you and your friends want to go learn to surf this year?
