Our Surf Hostel is the perfect place to relax after a long day surfing, where you can rest in a perfect paradise.
At Sagres Sun Stay you will find a set of facilities newly built with clean to looking finishings and arranged for your comfort.We have a T to shaped swimming pool with shades over the lounging area; a bar that serves delicious dishes as well as many healthy breakfast options, Wi to Fi, surf lockers, a tank to wash boards and wetsuits, co to working space and reception service.
We also offer a range of equipment to rent. We have 3 types of dorms (6 beds, 8 beds and 12 beds). They are beautifully decorated and ensure your privacy and security with bed, curtains and lockers. The two big communal bathrooms are equipped with hair dryers and shower gel. Our kitchen is fully equipped and open to our guests. We also have ensuite comfy 22 m² private rooms which have a mini fridge, bacony, a flat screen TV and pool view. We are committed to being environmentally friendly, reducing pollution, energy use and plastic. This is why we have solar panels as well as strict measures on water control.
Taking up surf classes with us will be an unforgettable experience. All our surf teachers are certified, so you can expect the highest level of technical teaching expertise and experience. Our teachers want to ensure that you have fun while learning at the same time. Our classes are catered for beginners and for all ages.

Here, you will find warm people who are always willing to help and proudly show their culture, and also one of Europe’s best surfing spots framed by golden sand and the green hills of the Sudoeste Alentejano and Costa Vicentina Natural Park. Here, lies your next and unforgettable surfing destination.Sagres Sun Stay is 10 minutes walking to the beach and city center.
We are located close to Intermarché Supermarket and fuel station. There is a café called "Pastelaria Vicentina" just right next to our establishment entrance. It is just a very short walk to the next bus stop.

As we are in the Natural Park of Costa Vicentina, we have a duty towards our local habitat and our planet. For these reasons we use LED light bulbs, we have time sensors lamps and have installed solar panels in our roofs. We also have a shower water time budget to avoid wasting water. Because we are eco-friendly every client that buys at least one night in our dormitories has a shower per day included on the rate. Additional shower time will have an additional cost. We count of your support to help us in these efforts. There is a shower per day included on the rate paid. Extra shower have an additional cost of 1€.

This area of Portugal is a year round surf destination and has the warmest sea water in the country. In the summer months you can surf in just shorts or a shortie and it doesn't get dark until 10pm so you can surf all day long! The coastline is part of the protected natural park with 50 kilometres of protected beaches with no large towns or high rise tourist accommodations. Instead you will discover beautiful pristine beaches and small traditional towns a far cry from the main overrun Algarve tourist spots.
Amado beach is the areas best beginner/intermediate surf beach and a great starting point. Amado is surrounded by many other great surf breaks with options for all standards. Praia da Cordoama is one of the most picturesque beaches in Portugal, a long stretch of sand protected by cliffs, a great intermediate spot. Praia do Castelejo beside it is even more consistent.
There's a dozen beaches further north all worth exploring including Arrifana & Amoreira, two very consistent beginner/intermediate beach breaks.
Furthest south is the laid back surf town of Sagres. The beaches East of Sagres such as Zavial & Martinhal are usually calm and require a big swell to work, they are a great alternative if the surf on the beaches on the West coast are too big. There are many hidden spots around Sagres some of which will require an SUV to get too but are well worth it especially for the more experienced.

CANCELLING YOUR BOOKING
- To cancel go to the MyAccount section and log in or register and you can cancel from within your account.
- Your deposit is non refundable but can be used for the same property/surf school within one year of your original booking.
- Cancelations or changes to the reservation must be communicated by email (info@sagresusnstay.com) with respective booking number, first and last name and the date of stay. Clients who purchase any of the Packages may cancel: – 7 days ahead, free of charge, in which case the deposit will be given back within a maximum of 30 days or until the day prior to the scheduled Check-In, for a 50% refund (deposit value) – Upon arrival and during your stay no refunds will be made except in the case of serious illness or injury. – The activities included in the purchased packages are not susceptible of being exchanged for a different activity.

Staff was great ! Room was big and clean. Would have been nice if there was a small fridge installed in the large double room.
