ERICEIRA´S ORIGINAL HOSTEL
Located near the heart of Ericeira easy walking access into the village center or to a beautiful stroll to some of Portugal’s famous surf spots and beaches. Our House caters for surfers from the most advanced to complete beginners you will sure have fun for surfing in no time. This House have a 24 h private condominium guard with a garden to relax, greats sunsets and ocean views and is a short walking distance to the village center, shopping facilities, surf spots and nice beaches. Blue Buddha Hostel was the Ericeira´s Original Hostel (first Hostel in Ericeira since 2008) and is now a charm house with bright and comfortable rooms. With a total of 8 rooms to between Twins (with private bathroom or shared bathroom, with sea view or with garden view or with no view) and a real big Quadruple Room to to accommodate you all year long.
All guest has access to the kitchen open 22 hours day, all its facilities and free wi to fi. From here you can access to the condominium tennis court and swimming pool during summer time (both with a small fee) very easily.
With our certified partners we can organize activities for you which include Surf Lessons, SUP Lessons, Yoga, Transfers from/to the Lisbon airport. We're here and ready to help make your stay easy!! Surf equipment is also available for hire in all Surf shops near the Hostel.

Ericeira village is located in Portugal west Atlantic coast located 40 km north of Lisbon known by the beaches, surf and way of life.
It is famous for its constant swells and for its healthy air, beautiful beaches and landscape, the excellent food and its weekend parties...during the summer.
The sandy beaches some with reef 300 days of sunshine mild temperatures and sea to breezed summers invite you to come all year long...
Walking tracks, facilities for surfboards rental and surf lessons are just some alternatives to the life on Ericeira.

Best time to go depends on your level above. July, August & September are the peak tourist months.
This is where you surf Europe's best coast line and let the fun begin.There are over 12 surf breaks along the Ericeira coast, with different options for all standards. With so much choice you'll feel like a kid in a sweet shop! The area was introduced in the Stormriders Surf Guide to Europe with the heading "Enter the Heartland".
World Surf Reserve
In 2011 it was awarded the title of 'World Surf Reserve', there are only 2 other places in the world that share the title: Santa Cruz, US and Manly, Australia.
If it is your first surfing holiday to Ericeira then head straight to Foz do Lizandro and Sao Juliao beaches south of town, they are perfect beginner and intermediate surf spots. Closer to town is Praia do Sul. Another great beginner beach breaks. All best at mid tide but surfable at high and low tide also.
For Intermediates you have the reliable and safe reef break Ribeira d'Ilhas, which host the WSL World qualifying series surf championships every year. And for the more adventurous you have the world class Coxos. That's just naming a few, there are too many surf breaks to mention here!
Don't forget to explore further up the coast - 25 minutes away is Santa Cruz and an hour away is Peniche, home to the World renowned Supertubos and host of the Rip Curl Pro since 2009. 30 minutes south of Lisbon is the Cascais coast with the famous Praia do Guincho surf beach. And when north winds are blowing you can venture further south towards Carcevelos beach and the other surf spots along the Lisbon coast.

Accommodation: regular hostel, kitchen good and clean, no games however (you need to bring your cards, etc.). Barberque in backyard good. The house is right next to the main road crossing the town, a little noisy, but it's ok - if not the cats, you hear the ocean.

"I have been in Blue Buddha twice (10 and 7 days), i absolutely loved it. The staff was amazing, just like the quests. First time was a family trip, with our 3yo daughter, then i went back alone in September to surf. We had the privacy we needed, and joined the social life too (we had soo much fun:). The place is clean and chilled, feels like staying in one of your friend's villa, just right in front of a nice reef break. There are many good surf spots around in walking distance, also a well made skate park with bowl, pool etc.. Shops, bars and restaurants are nearby - some walk, but not a big trip. The owners are really friendly, funny and focused on the quests. I feel i found THE HOSTEL of Ericeira, in an incredibly beautiful location. Superb value, great deal for board rental too.
Perfect for surfers or "surf minded" non/future surfers :D
