  • We had a fab week, weather gods on our side with sunshine and great waves. We went to Hendaye the first day, but the other days on Cote de Basque. The location of Grande Large was perfect, we got a room on the 8th floor and had a great view over Grand Plage. After surf we have chilled at the pool and just worked on the tan a bit.. French food was fantastic, not the cheapest but a gastronomic experience each time! In all, I fell in love with Biarritz and me and Hanna are discussing on when we should return with our husbands next year.( Or if we should just keep this a ladysurf camp instead..; ) What I appreciate the most about your website when booking was the variety of both countries and accomodation. I like the possibility of staying in a nice hotel with surfing close (Im a quite comfortable type). Haven't found any other surfcompany that is offering this type of product before. If you look at the places where Ive been (Biarritz and Lagos) you see that both times nice hotels are chosen before surfcamps. I think you have a winning concept here. There are a few of us "nearly grown ups" that enjoys a more active holiday. And one more thing, the hotel rates you have are really really good! Well done on that! - Sara , Sweden

  • The hotel was perfect and with a amazing view of the beach. The surf lessons with David were very good and he taught us lots. Biarritz it self is very nice and relaxed place on the expensive side and you really need to have some form of french to speak as we found it hard ordering things and not sure what we ordered but most of the time if was fine. Looking forward to the next trip where ever that might be. - Ed, Lucan

  • We loved Biarritz, the apartment was perfect, just what we wanted. The location couldn't have been better, Carrafour was close by and some cool restaurants and bars on that street around it. We bought food at the market there too which was cool. My girlfriend was a beginner surfer so i took her to the two main beaches at low tide and we enjoyed the surf. We probably had a little too much wine and great food but I guess that's allowed! - Fran, Dublin

  • Myself and Joe really enjoyed ourselves in Biarritz. We had a mixture of weather that went from a bit cloudy and rainy to roasting hot. It ranged from 26-30 degrees for our final two days, so it was quite the change from Ireland. We cycled to Bayonne the first cloudy day and got the train over to San Sebastien the next, which we both loved. I spent the final two days on the beach, which were so nice. We loved the location of our apartment and the view over the balcony was great. We really enjoyed some of your restaurant recommendations, particularly El Diablo and Café Bar Jean. I don’t think we had a bad meal our entire trip so that was great. Also the distance from the airport is a major plus. Thanks again for all your help - Orla & Joe, Dublin

  • Accommodation was very good thanks and very good value (rooms were really spacious. Surf lesson was great and David was a very good teacher. In terms of bars we mostly spent time in the Newquay bar. We had dinner in El Diablo one night which was good. For clubs, we found one by the beach called Arena that was very good. Many thanks - Oliver, London

  • We had a fab time. We did 3 days in San Seb which was fab - really good value and great location. The surfing was good, really liked the instructor and the surf, although frustratingly I had a different board every day so it was difficult to progress much as I was always trying to get used to a new board. We loved San Seb and didn't want to leave. Food was amazing - your restaurant recommendations were great. Biarritz was a good place too, although I was sad to leave SS! I thought the hotel was great. I thought your service was excellent and I would def book another holiday through you, and recommend you to friends - Anne, London

  • Lovely apartment with swimming pool, plenty of room for our boys 18 and 22. A cleaner cleaned the apartment every day. Helpful receptionists and Samos was very funny. Excellent local restaurants – recommend Café Jean in rue des Halles, plus lovely restaurants overlooking the sea. The boys had a surfing lesson and managed to stand up and my wife loved the shops and local architecture. Hired a car and had a trip to the Guggenheim at Bilbao and San Sebastian for Tapas. Fantastic fireworks on our last night overlooking the see. Very nice people and local children exceptionally behaved! Everyone loved it - Stephen, London

  • We had the best time! We split the holiday between Zarautz and Biarritz. Both apartments - were incredible. The terrace we had in Talaimendi was bigger than my whole flat ha! Biarritz was beautiful, if a little expensive, and 4 nights was perfect. Travelling between the two was a breeze too, very impressed with the trains and coaches in the area - Rebecca, Sophie and Rachel, London

  • We really enjoyed our holiday in Biarritz at Le Grand Large. The studio was good value for money and close to the surfing beach. The city is also a very nice place to go out (very nice bars, restaurants,...) and the beaches are very clean and not too crowded in September... all in all a really wonderful place! - Marina & Christian, Neumarkt, Germany

  • It was very enjoyable. Biarritz is well worth visiting, lovely beaches, great food and very relaxing. The accommodation was very central and suited our needs perfectly. Surf Lessons were well conducted and provided a good introduction to surfing. David was very patient and positive despite the fact that we weren't very good! Overall the experience was very positive, and very well organised. One advantage to the Biarritz surfing is that the flight time is less than two hours and you are at the hotel within 10 minutes of leaving the airport, reducing time wasted doing long transfers, Thanks for your help with this - Alex & crew, Swords, Ireland

  • Really enjoyed the holiday! The apartment was nice and clean and had a great view towards Spain. The surfing was great and I think we all improved a lot over the week. Ate out every night, mostly around les Halles area and the tapas bar down the road from the apartments. All in all, I wouldn't have any complaints about the holiday and would love to do it all again. Hopefully talk to you again soon- Eoghan, Ranelagh, Dublin

  • We had a lovely time on holidays. We spent a week in San Sebastian and a week in Biarritz. Accommodation wise we preferred Biarritz.  Great location and the room was ample size. The surf was great in Biarritz, Gary found the lessons very good.  I would def recommend Biarritz for surfing - Yvonne & Gary, Baldoyle, Ireland

  • Biarritz was great. David at the surf school was really good. I was pretty rubbish, but he was really helpful. He seemed to pick up on everything I did wrong, stuff that other people never noticed. The class was a nice size, very small. Everyone got a bit of individual attention again, and again...There was another surf crowd who had large groups, and kept them very close to the waters edge, they didn't seem to be making much progress. We were brought out much further, where you could actually catch the waves, and build a bit of confidence in the water, and trying to read the waves. The fact that my French isn't the best, was not a problem either. I'd definately recommend the surf school and I'd go back. Also, the changing facilities were really good, they seem very new, and well maintained. Thanks again -  Noleen, Donegal

  • A lovely funky hotel with brilliant sea views of Biarritz and very convenient for the beaches - between the two main ones and only short walking distance. Biarritz is a brilliant place, I love it... very relaxed, great bars, great surf - Chris, Newcastle

  • The place is fantastic, the lessons were good. The apartment complex location wise couldnt have been better. Will definitely go back and of the three we have been to Ericeira, Noja and Biarritz - it was the most enjoyable. Many thanks again and I look forward to booking with you again - Colm, Dublin
