Location

Praia da Tocha is located in the Beira Litoral region, which is part of the famous Silver Coast. It has this name because of the silver shinning reflex of the sun on the ocean. As implicit in the name, this beautiful area of mellow temperatures, white sandy beaches, and amazing landscapes is considered one of the most beautiful places in Portugal.

The closest surf spot from our guesthouse is our home break and is only 100 meters away. This beach break, for all surf levels, starts to work with less than 3 ft (1 meter) swell, and is the place to be! If it´s flat here, it´s flat everywhere! The rest of the surf spots of the Beira Litoral coast are a variety of world to class beaches, reefs, and point breaks.

The famous student city of Coimbra, our region's capital, has one of the oldest universities in Europe and is only a 30 minutes drive away from our place. The beautiful city of Porto and the famous big wave surf spot called Nazaré are only 60 minutes away from us

With such a variety of good surf spots and just a small number of surfers, this area is Portugal’s hidden jewel!

The Place

Ticket2Surf can be described as a surf lodge or surf camp located in Praia da Tocha, Portugal. Praia da Tocha is an authentic small coastal town hidden in the forests of the Beira Litoral region, between Porto, Coimbra, and Lisbon.
Ticket2Surf was founded in 2011, and the owners are a Dutch Portuguese couple and their two kids who fell in love with this authentic village, its beautiful surroundings, and laidback vibe.
The lodge and surf school are situated in the main street and 100m from the beach of Praia da Tocha. There are a couple of nice bars, a few restaurants, a market, 2 supermarkets, 2 ATM machines, all within walking distance from our place.
Apart from that, we offer:

How did you like the accommodation?

     

If you are looking for chilled place somewhere close to the cost surrounded by pine trees but still in the middle of nowhere, you are right at ticket2surf. We stayed there 5 days in october and had really great time with brian and claudia, the owner of the hostel. They are very friendly and helped us with everything. We really enjoyed the nice atmosphere which claudia and brian created.

The rooms are very clean and there is a lot of space to hang around indoor (living room) and outdoor. Outdoor you have some seats and benches, a big table and some hammocks. indoor you find a Tv, magazines/ books, sofas and big table, and the most other stuff like games and so on. The kitchen is well equipped and every thing you need is there, if not: Claudia and Brian will help you :) All rooms are decorated individual with a lot of love and details in it.

All in all we love to stay at ticket2surf and would like to come back as soon as possible. If you are looking for a nice place to chill, surf and have a great time, we can totally recommended this place!

How did you like the accommodation?

     

It was a great experience to stay at Ticket2surf in Praia da Tocha with Claudia en Brian! The vibe at the hostel is soooooo good, you feel at home immediately. Everything is just so relaxt, kitchen is very well equiped, location is perfect near the beach and market with fresh food every day :-) There are a couple of nice priced restaurants with typical food and a great bar down the road with beer for 1€!

I will be back here for sure, fell in love with the place completely.

How did you like the surf lessons?

     

Most importantly the waves are great for surfing. Brian teaches surfing in a nice way and Claudia does beautiful yoga sessions.

We offer you excellent surf guiding and make sure that you will have suitable conditions regarding your surf level;We would be happy to help you out with some surf advice like: how to work on your technique, reading waves, surf spots, tides, wind options, reading entrance and exit points at various surf spots;

Yoga

We offer yoga lessons once a day on a deck on the beach or in our yoga studio.
