Location

The Surf Lodge is located in Figueira da Foz (Maiorca) at Europe's best surf coast. The closest surf spots still hold their natural beauty, offering different wave options, point break, after point break, fast and hollow waves, both lefts and rights. Being a less crowded area makes it a surf destination with a more relaxed environment.

It is very convenient if you are traveling along with Portugal since it is between Lisbon and Porto and around one hour distance from other great surf breaks like Peniche or Espinho. The most famous spot is Praia do Cabedelo, remarkable for its dunes and wild vegetation. It is a quiet and friendly beach with good facilities and an amazing view of the city.

During your stay in Portugal On Water Surf Lodge, you can count on a delicious holiday. Portugal is well known for the gastronomy and you will keep that on the mind. You will have waiting for you:
to "Nalu QdA Beach House": placed at the beach, offering light and snack dishes (such as poke salads, toasts, burgers, pancakes, brunch options), bar services and daily menus;
to “Eira d’Anta”: the hotel restaurant (on site, seasonally may have closing periods), gastronomy more traditional approach.

The Place

You will stay at Quinta d'Anta Hotel and Surf Lodge. This property, a boutique-style hotel, was born from a project of friends who believe in hospitality. The venue combines the countryside tranquillity with the comfort of a modern hotel, offering exciting facilities: outdoor swimming pool, restaurant and bar service, barbecue, fitness center with personal trainer service and other activities such as yoga, massage, padel, or mountain bikes.

All the rooms at the property have a private bathroom and are equipped with air conditioning and a flat-screen television with cable channels. Free Wi-Fi is provided throughout the property (rooms, bars, the restaurant, living rooms, and outdoor areas) and if you drive a car, they also have free private parking available.

Besides the main property, there is also Nalu QdA Beach House, a restaurant/bar at the beach, just in front of the main local surf spot. It’s used as support for classes, chill out area and for food and beverage service.

How did you like the accommodation?

     

Lovely staff, rooms very comfortable. The nearby city of Figueira de Foz was very lively and active at night due to a festival whilst we were there. The options for vegetarians and vegans are limited outside the accommodation however.

How did you like the surf lessons?

     

The instructors were very helpful and gave good advice on how to improve, unfortunately the surf conditions weren't great whilst I was there so I was limited to what I could do

Beautiful place, excellent food & wine and super friendly hosts. Everyone went out of their way to make me feel welcome & comfortable. I loved my stay here and will come back (and with a car this time).

How did you like the surf lessons?

     

Great instructor, patient & friendly. I only had a few lessons, but loved it and made some progress due to the excellent guidance of Marcos. And got some fun photos as well thanks to a very talented photographer!

Kids Surf Lessons

We offer lessons for kids aged between 6-12. We like parents to be close specially on younger ages.
If you are a parent you will be amazed with your kid riding a wave.
Safety and fun are our main priorities.

Beginner Surf Lessons

The session goes through the basic theory and techniques of surfing, you will know everything, from how to carry your board, to how to take off and catch the first waves. At the end you will be able to surf white water waves by yourself and you will have the first approach on surfing unbroken waves.
The main goal of the program is for you to start surfing safe and have a great time.

Intermediate Surf Lessons

At this stage you will be able to catch green waves and ride the face of the wave on regular basis.
Besides learning more advanced surfing techniques you must understand the priority rules and the correct position in the line-up to surf unbroken waves.
The main goal of the program is for you to become a better surfer and have lots of fun.

Advanced Surf Lessons

It’s time to improve your spot analysis and developing technique and confidence on the waves. Besides going both right and left on a wave you should start to incorporate some maneuvers.
Our instructors will give you personal feedback on the things you need to work on. The main goal of the program is to make you to be able to surf more and better independently.

Private Surf Lessons

Get a private instructor for any stage or program you need (máx. 1 or 2 persons per class).
