Location

Located in the Chinandega region of Northern Nicaragua, Rise Up Surf is nestled on a cliff top at Punta Aposentillo overlooking a beautiful bay with peaceful waves. On a clear day, the awe to inspiring views extend all the way to El Salvador. This guesthouse is a green oasis of native fruit trees and flourishing gardens. On its south side, a second stunning and secluded beach is home to one of Nicaragua’s best surf breaks.

The Boom – One of Nicaragua’s heaviest and most hollow beach breaks, The Boom is only a 10 to minute walk away from the Rise Up Surf’s guesthouse.

Out Front / Down Below. Just down the hillside from the guesthouse or “out front”, you will find a beautiful bay with sweet, mellow waves, perfect for beginners.

Aposentillo – This beginner to friendly spot has easy to going, good, green to face waves to learn on. It is just a few minutes walk along the beach from the guesthouse.

The Point – This “rippable” left to hand point break is just 10 minutes away by boat.

Nahualapa – Just a short drive from the guesthouse, this spectacular bay picks up a lot of swell and offers right and left hand breaks, which suit all levels.

Jiquilillo – These punchy sand bars are 30 minutes’ drive away. Both inside and outside sand bars offer great waves for every level.

Beginner Surf Lessons

Level 1 – You have never surfed in your life, have tried surfing a few times, took a few surfing lessons here and there, been surfing for weeks or months, but you still have difficulty with basic techniques, fall on 30% or more of your pop ups, not comfortable swimming through the white wate or you have difficulty catching unbroken waves by yourself.

Intermediate Surf Lessons

Level 2 – You have been surfing for many weeks, months or a few years, you can paddle through the white water and you can catch unbroken waves by yourself, able to predict if a wave will be a right or a left, able to angle your take off and go down the line on a wave, rarely fall on your pop-ups or you don't need any assistance to go through the white water and to catch unbroken.

Advanced Surf Lessons

Level 3 – When you are at level 3 that means you can confidently catch head high plus waves without assistance.
