Bundoran is considered one of Europe's premier surf locations. The town is located on Donegal Bay, facing the Atlantic Ocean & has a wide range of beach and reef breaks in walking distance or only a short drive away.
The town is a busy seaside place with a good range of shops, restaurants and bars. There is usually some live music in one of the bars at the weekends.
TurfnSurf Lodge is an historic Victorian terraced townhouse overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and the world famous surf break "The Peak".
The Lodge has a range of double, twin, triple and dorm rooms all of which are ensuite with TV and free WIFI.
There is a sunny front terrace and a large rear garden. Inside we have a fully equipped kitchen, a dining room/social area and a sitting room to chill out in.
Our Surf School is located at the rear of the building & we have changing rooms, showers, board storage & all equipment needed for lessons.

Loved loved the accommodation, people are so helpful and made us feel really welcome. we had a private double room with en suite it was perfect. also so close to all shops and restaurants and bars. Maddens bar was amazing for food and also the peak restaurant was fabulous food and service. CANT WAIT TO GO BACK.
The lessons were great , the instructors were so patient and helpful and have an real passion for it. it was my first time surfing and I am now looking to get my own surf board and keep at it, I will deffo be back up.
Stayed here from 25 - 29 June. I got a triple room en-suit. My sister was supposed to come with me but couldn't make it, so I had the room to myself. This was fine as there were many other solo travelers and it was easy to make friends and have a laugh. The room was very clean, bright and spacious with a gorgeous view of the sea. The staff are second to non. Every single one of them were so friendly, warm, helpful and great fun! I had such an awesome time out surfing. The instructors were excellent and very helpful, giving great advice to each individual. There was also a free trip up to Glencar waterfall which the driver Sean went out of his way to show our group the mountains and sights which we would otherwise have missed, which was very much appreciated.
All in all, I will definitely come back here asap. It is excellent value for money, but its really the staff that run the place that are worth staying here for alone.
The surf instructors were lovely and friendly. They gave great one on one advice and really looked after everyone.

The Peak
Level: Advanced
An iconic world famous reef break. Barreling left and right A to frame. Best at low tide but can work at high tide. For the experienced surfer only.
Inside Left
Level: Advanced
Very hollow left hander reef break, that works at low tide. For the experienced surfer only.
Tullan
Level: All Levels
Best at low tide and the only place to catch a wave when everywhere else is flat. But be careful if The Peak or other reef breaks are working Tullan will be a washing machine wipe out and dangerous. Good for beginners in small surf and more experienced surfers can tuck in at the cliff.
As the Stormriders Surf Guide says “Donegal Bay is one of the few places in Europe to warrant the title ‘a surfer’s paradise"
Tullan Strand surf beach in Bundoran is one of the most consistent beginner's waves in the country. It is the perfect place to start, and is great for intermediates with a perfect wedge appearing off the cliff.
A few km's north is Rossnowlagh, said to be the first beach ever to be surfed in Ireland back in the 60s. It’s a perfect place for beginners and intermediate surfers to polish their skill. Don’t forget to have a drink in the legendary Surfers Bar before you leave!
In the centre of Bundoran town is The Peak, one of Ireland's best wave. Numerous World and European surfing competitions have been held here, it’s a perfect place to watch the locals rip it up.
40 minutes south of Bundoran, in Sligo, is the surf promenade at Strandhill, a very popular surf beach with surf shops and the famous Strand Bar.
For intermediates and advanced there are countless choices, it’s all about exploring and finding out for yourself. Mullaghmore head is Ireland’s premier big wave spot, made famous when local tow-in surfers caught 60 foot waves. Drive further west in Sligo and you will reach Easkey, home to Ireland’s most famous wave.
