Location

Located in the Costa Vincentina National park southwest of Portugal, our camp is within a 30 to minute drive of nearly 20 surf breaks, so, no matter the size of the swell or direction of the wind, great waves are always abundant, and the areas we visit are suitable for all levels of surfers.

From home to cooked meals to instruments provided for your enjoyment, there are a number of benefits unique to our camp that add a personal touch to each rider’s experience, and make Atlantic Riders Surf Camp a place like no other around

The Place

Riders get their daily fuel from our home-cooked meals and baked goods and dinners are always made from scratch (and include an irresistible dessert).

We offer a “Riders Playground” with a well stocked bar, snacks, mini ramp, foosball, table-tennis, beamer, dart boards, books, drums, electric guitar, acoustic guitars and amps are all available for some jam sessions. It’s safe to say things get pretty funky.

The atmosphere here is laid-back and extremely welcoming. People are easy to talk to, and friends are easy to come by.

Intermediate Surf Lessons

Intermediate 1

Ideal for those who are comfortable identifying the peak, but need to work on their wave selection, timing and making the drop. We’ll also introduce you to the coveted bottom turn.
Intermediate 2

Perfect for seasoned surfers wanting to make rail-to-rail turns and cutbacks. For those who don’t nose dive anymore, take off consistently and can make the bottom turn.

Advanced Surf Lessons

Atlantic Riders has two experienced teams of passionate and patient teachers–one team works with our surf-camp guests, while the other works with our day-class visitors. Both teams provide individualized attention, making sure each of their students progresses steadily, while always feeling comfortable and safe. On average, our instructor-to-student ratio is 1 to 8.

Private Surf Lessons

Our Private lessons are perfect for duos of all levels. Learn and improve alongside your buddy and one of our dedicated instructors. Friends or couples who are looking for privacy and extra attention often find this lesson option best for them. (Minimum of two hours.)
