Where: Christ Church, south-east coast of Barbados
The Area: A lively town that is home to excellent shopping locations, beautiful beaches and delicious restaurants, such as the world renowned Oistins Fish Grill, where you can sample the island’s exquisite array of seafood.
Beach: White sand, turquoise waters and palm trees make for an unforgettable beach experience, you may even spot some sea turtles that regularly relax on the sand.

Saint Lawrence Gap

Where: Christ Church, south coast of Barbados
The Area: Popular tourist destination with fantastic beachside amenities that include; food and vending kiosks, timber boardwalks, swimming and snorkelling equipment, jewellery, hair braiding and souvenirs. You’ll find picnic tables, beach chairs, umbrellas and loungers, as well as toilet and shower facilities.
Beach: One of the most popular beaches on the south coast with picture postcard scenery and a lively atmosphere.
Type: Left and right walls that are perfect for long boarders and mini-mal riders.

Inch Marlow

Where: Christ Church, south-east coast of Barbados
The Area: Tranquil and relaxing area that would be best summarised by saying that this is what the whole of Barbados would have looked like 20 years ago!
Beach: This is one of the quietest beaches in the area and the perfect place to get some secluded waves with your friends and family. The cliffs make for an impressive view whilst on Barbados’s longest beach, with beach combing very popular here!
Type: Beach break peaks can be found up and down this stretch of sand that offer a bit more power than the other beginner beaches. A great wave to head to after a few Barbados surf sessions under your belt.

4.Freights Bay, Oistins
 

Town:
Oistins

Where: Christ Church, South coast of Barbados
The Area: Nearby Oistins is a wonderful place to refuel and sip on cold drinks before exploring the areas surf shops, historical buildings and local craft shops.
Beach: Sheltered beach that is often has an offshore wind all day due to the the expanse of cliffs offering protection. Like most beginner surf beaches in Barbados, the sand is beautifully white with turquoise water lapping up onto the shore.
Type: When a big swell fills in from the south the best left hand waves on the South coast will show their face. On most days you can find mellow lefts that are perfect for beginners and long boarders as well as punchier rights for regular footed surfers. Best Time: September to February, with the occasional swell in May and June.

5. Sand Bank, Bathsheba
 

Town:
In between Barclays Park and Bathsheba.

Where: Saint Joseph, east coast of Barbados
The Area: Loved by photographers and artists for the awe-inspiring beauty the area holds, with limestone cliffs, rich green pastures and azure blue waters make for a melting pot of colour. There are a few restaurants nearby that serve the freshest seafood money can buy.
Beach: Also known as Cattlewash, as farmers used to bathe their cattle here, the white sand beach is very peaceful, where you can only expect to find a few other people dotted along the shore. Local flora lines the beach, making this one of the most beautiful beginner surf beaches in Barbados. This is a must visit on your Barbados surf holiday.
Type: Left and right hand waves break along this beach, with low tide generally producing hollower waves.
