Location

The Aljezur region knows 300+ sunny days a year. Praia de Amoreira is close by and we have our own surf school on this stunning beach: Surlife Atlantic Riders (since 2001). But also the popular white sand beaches of Arrifana and Monte Clerigo are at a 15 minute drive. Book your beach transfer to Praia da Amoreira for a small fee at the lodge reception. We have our own transfer service to these beaches which are not included in the price.

We also offer activities such as yoga, mountain biking, tennis, swimming and surf lessons.

At the end of the day just pop down on our nice lounge sofas and enjoy the setting sun on our panoramic roof terrace.

Off course you can also explore the beautiful town of Aljezur where you will find wonderful restaurants and bars with the best coffee, the famous Castle in the old town, night clubs, supermarkets, a fresh market and a ton of authentic Portuguese culture. Our host has full details on opening hours and reservations.

Aljezur is located in the famous South West Coast National Park, Costa Vicenta. Think Go for a stroll on the unspoiled deserted beaches, the stunning cliffs or the surrounding forests. nature, cliff walks, Hiking, fresh fishing, surfing, mountainbiking in world class waves and you name it.

The Place

Since we established our surf camp in Aljezur in the South western corner of the Algarve in 2001 we have stolen many surfers’ hearts. Once you get infected with our true surfing spirit you’ll never want to leave Aljezur and go back home again.

Surflife Atlantic Riders has the right vibe for your surfing holiday. After a healthy breakfast on the roof top terrace you leave with the surf coaches for the beach, feeling the dreamy vibe of the village, taking in the scent of the flowers and the trees, the sea breeze surrounding you.

The Atlantic Lodge in Aljezur is a modern retro decorated feel good lodge and is a perfect place to stay if you are exploring the West Algarve. The place is beautifully situated right in the middle of the town of Aljezur. The Atlantic Lodge at the sunny town square has scenic views over the entire town and knows some lovely cafes and restaurants in walking distance. You will love the sunrises and sunsets with 360 view on our amazing roof terrace.

How did you like the accommodation?

     

The best about a great place is all about the people who create it everyday. I stayed a short time but it won't be my last time!
I will think back on you Julia , who was the most sympathetic camp organizer , i ever met, .. Pim, who has the strongest sense for simply get loose and have fun with each step in daily life- thank you for sharing jokes, Chris who is enormously natural and kind and welcomed me, though i did not expected to be picked up for real. Kisses and Hugs!

Nous avons réservé un cours de surf sur une journée avec Atlantic lodge et avons passé une journée incroyable ! David et Manuel étaient de supers instructeurs qui assurent la sécurité , nous donnent des feedbacks et nous encouragent . On a tous vraiment beaucoup progressé et en plus passé une super journée . Les échauffements de manu sont complets avec même une session de yoga , de détente . On y retrouve vraiment la philosophie du surf , fun , relax et océan . On a adoré et on a hâte de refaire ! Je conseil vivement !!!

Surf Lessons we offer:

Kids Surf Lessons

We offer lessons for kids aged 6-12. Each lesson is up to 2 hours per day and include Surfboard & Wetsuit rental. We ask that parents are close by. We have the possibility to pick up from our Atlantic Lodge and take you to the beach. Safety and fun are our main priorities.

Beginner Surf Lessons

We'lll pick you up every morning from the Atlantic Lodge and take you to our Surf School at the beach. Each day includes 3 hours surf per day, divided into 2x 1h 30min. Student ration is max. 1:8. The beginner's lessons are taught in in the foam. You will learn everything from standing techniques to turning and finally paddling outside and learning how to catch a 'green' (unbroken) waves.

Intermediate Surf Lessons

We'll pick you up every morning from the Atlantic Lodge and take you to our Surf School at the beach. Each day includes 3 hours surf per day, divided into 2x 1h 30min. Student ration is max. 1:8. You will learn how waves are formed, how weather conditions creatie the surf and be given the step by step guidance that will have you up and riding the waves on your first day.

Advanced Surf Lessons

We'll pick you up every morning from the Atlantic Lodge and take you to our Surf School at the beach. Each day includes 3 hours surf per day, divided into 2x 1h 30min. Student ration is max. 1:8. We'll take you out the the best conditions available.

Private Surf Lessons

We'll pick you up every morning from the Atlantic Lodge and take you to our Surf School at the beach. Each day includes 3 hours surf per day, divided into 2x 1h 30min. We'll take you out the the best conditions available.

Yoga

Yoga is the ideal way to calm and strengthen your body and mind. Do you prefer a lesson in the morning before breakfast or rather in the evening after a day on the beach? On the roof terrace, or rather in the dunes? Our yoga teacher organizes it daily.
