Location

Northern Portugal has become a popular surfing destination for beginner and intermediate surfers from all over Europe. Cortegaça is a beautiful traditional fishing town.

It is still a spot with no crowd and perfect conditions to learn to surf. The sun shines from April to November, with temperatures ranging from 15 to 20 degrees on colder days and 25 to 30 degrees on warmer days. The waves are consistent throughout the year. Cortegaça is planted by the sea, along an extensive coast. To both north and south there are several spots with different characteristics for surfing. Waves are not going to miss!

Cortegaça's beach is known for its fantastic waves to Surf and Surf paddle and beautiful sunsets! There are also many walkways through the woods where you can ride a bike, run or just walk! In the neighboring town you can also visit the walkways that lead to Barrinha lagoon, a 8km walk through nature.

The house is 5 minutes walk to Cortegaça’s train station which quickly connects to the city of  Porto (35minutes) or Aveiro(30 minutes)!

The Place

The house is located 3km away from Cortegaça's beach the ideal spot to catch good waves and without crowd. Buçaquinho Environmental Park is 2 km away. It is the ideal place to walk and relax. You can do picnics and visit the various lakes full of ducks. Ideal for family outings!

In addition to surfing, you can opt for a visit to Porto and the Douro Wine Cellars among other activities that you can book with us, surfing yoga & pilates, windsurfing, kitesurfing, canoeing, river descents and horse riding or cycling.

The house can accommodate 4 persons, 2 in the room and other 2 in the living room in a bed sofá. Perfect for couples with kids or a group of friends.

Surf Lessons we offer:

Beginner Surf Lessons

We have lessons that include 2/3h surfing, Surfboard, Wetsuit and insurance. We have bikes available to go to the beach to surf. It is a trip of about 15 minutes.
For beginners and zero experience surfers our goal is to teach surfing methods get you on the board safely and quickly. Always with the right equipment in safe and controlled conditions.

Intermediate Surf Lessons

Time is divided into functional trainings to develop surfing techniques. Learn how local waves break into new places, work better with tides, wind, swell directions and swell sizes. Each day includes 1 surf sessions, surfboard, wetsuit and insurance. We have bikes available to go to the beach to surf. It is a trip of about 15 minutes.

Advanced Surf Lessons

Each day includes 1 surf sessions, surfboard, wetsuit and insurance. In the advanced lessons you will learn more about reading the surf conditions, duckdiving, improving the paddle to catch the waves better, improving your bottom and top turn, making speed on the wave and some tricks. We have bikes available to go to the beach to surf. It is a trip of about 15 minutes.

Private Surf Lessons

In the private lessons you will have a teacher for you who will explain the basic principles of surfing. Lessons are about 2 hours surfing, Surfboard, Wetsuit and insurance are included. We have bikes available to go to the beach to surf. It is a trip of about 15 minutes.

  • A small deposit is required to secure your booking.
  • Your balance is due to the property 7 days before arrival. The Property will contact you to collect payment. If you book within this 7 days then the property will contact you shortly after you book to collect the balance.
