About the accomodation: we were in a very qiet place. Helena is there every morning preparing breakfast. Pedro is around the camp most of the time. Very chilling and relaxing atmosphere. Great Rooms. Beautiful surfspots and beaches nearby. You are not directly at the beach however you can get to the places you want to visit by uber or public transport. Additionally we booked yoga classes. A personal yoga instructor is coming to the camp and starting the day doing yoga with you.
Hi David hope you guys arrived well home.

Guincho Beach
Level: All Levels
Breath taking vies and amazing waves.
Guincho lies within Serra de Sintra national park and is one of the most amazing Lisbon coast beaches. It can be reached by bus from Cascais. The waves are powerful and the place can be windy – it has hosted international/national windsurf, kitesurf and surf championships surf because of that.
Guincho is different due to its swell directions, wind directions and tide. South and East winds direction are offshore. The strong swells form powerful waves good for intermediate and advance levels. For beginers we always advice you to go with a surfschool as the rips are stong and the sand bottom changes constantly. Very good for surf in early mornings or late afternoons when the wind normally drops. Don't miss it!
Carcavelos Beach
Level: All Levels
Beginer surf school headquarters.
Carcavelos is the beach we call home! This is where you can find our surf school.
Carcavelos It’s on the railway line conecting Lisbon to Cascais and has the most extensive sandy area of Estoril Coast a excellent place for beginers/intermediate surf lessons.
There’s also skate and volleyball courts.
However winter offers also good swells for advance surfers and some amazing tube rides with the swells from southewest/west and off to shore winds. Also works with norwest swell and normally the wind is off shore.
Costa da Caparica
Level: All Levels
Good Surf Spots for all levels.
Costa da Caparica beaches extend over 30 km until Cabo Espichel. You can easily find public transportation from Caparica village to beaches like Praia da Rainha, Praia da Mata or Praia da Cabana do Pescador – there’s even a special train operating on summer season.
These are crowded areas, but you can still find a lot of good surfing spots around, like Praia da Cova do Vapor, “Praia do CDS”, Praia da Fonte da Telha or Praia da Nova Vaga, just to name a few. The later is specially nice for Kitesurfing.
Cascais is the perfect place to learn how to surf. The town is surrounded by many different types of beaches. The best beginners/intermediate surf beach is Guincho (pronounced Ginchu) 5 km's north west of Cascias town. It's a beautiful kilometre long stretch of beach.
Further north are two excellent beginners beaches Praia das Macas & Praia Grande. They are well worth the trip as they will take you past Cabo da Roca, mainland Europes most Western Point with a pretty impressive cliff top view.
A few hundred metres East of Cascais is Monte Estoril beach which has a small righthand wave that breaks regularly. There is a car park at its base accessed from a slip road above.
Follow the road east of Cascais along the Tagus river (Tejo in Portuguese) towards Lisbon and you will come across beach after beach offering a vast amount of surf: Bica is a great longboarders break on Sao Pedro beach. The beach has a few surf bars and restaurants and is a great place to spend the day.
Closer to Lisbon is Carcavelos beach - as the Stormriders surf guide call it: "the original and still one of the best Portuguese surf spots". Its a very consistent beach break and home to some of Portugals best surfers.
Its also worth taking the trip across the river Tagus to Costa Caparica - driving over the spectacular Ponte 25 de Abril bridge leaving Lisbon behind you. Costa Caprica is a 30 km strip of coast with some of the most consistent surf in Portugal.
