Location

Soma is located in the indigenous village of the Nahaulapa's which is in the middle of the surf zone about 1 mile to the nearest surf break.

At this time there is no coastal road in this area so you will need to come back to the main road and cut in to access 5 to 6 world class surf breaks. All the breaks are located 5 to 10 minutes from Soma. Remember this is a very rural area with really no town, few restaurants, no banks, no gas stations, and no major stores to speak of.

Surf Lessons we offer:

Kids Surf Lessons

We offer surf lessons for kids from 6 and up. We all meet in our open air lobby meet the guides get the kids boards, load up the trucks and off we go. Parents must accompany all children. Water safety is discussed at length along with a simple breakdown of surfing techniques including paddling, pop up, reading waves and more. Max instructor to student ratio is never more than 1:4. 2 hrs.

Beginner Surf Lessons

Class ratio is never more than 1:4. Discussions will include water safety, history of surfing, ocean and wave dynamics, wave selection, & more. Dry land practice will is included once we arrive at the beach. We will then go surfing to an appropriate spot for swell size, tide, winds and skill level. Our surf instructors will be in the water with you making individual observations & suggestions.

Intermediate Surf Lessons

We meet every morning in the lobby and decide which break is appropriate base on skill level, tides, winds etc. There are usually 2 sessions morning and afternoon which can include different breaks, depending on conditions. Our guides surf with you giving you instructions if necessary and/or help you with a specific issue to get you to that next level. Surf as long as you want.

Advanced Surf Lessons

Get maximum wave time by surfing with guides who know the line up, where to paddle out, which breaks are best on what tides, best times to go based on wind direction, and wave conditions. Surf up to 3 session per day. Surf as long as you want at appropriate breaks for your skill level

  • A small deposit is required to secure your booking.
  • Your balance is due to the property 5 days before arrival. The Property will contact you to collect payment. If you book within this 5 days then the property will contact you shortly after you book to collect the balance.
