Location

Taghazout to the surf pearl on the atlantic coast in Morocco. The small fishing village is just 20 km north from Agadir and a 40 minutes drive from Agadir Airport.

Since european hippies found this gem in the early 70s, it has became a surf mecca for surfers around the globe. If you are not only coming for the surf, there is so much more to see. Get to know the culture and food in the local souks or explore paradise valley, a beautiful oasis with natural rock pools.

The Place

Salt Surf Taghazout pays homage to the nomadic surf lifestyle with a gentle nod to moroccan tradition. This hostel is for travelers, the space is spread across a beautiful riad-style building just off the main road of Taghazout. Within a 5-minutes walk you will find some of the best beginner waves in the world. Just down the road, the more challenging spots like our famous Anchor Point finds place.

The house can accommodate up to 17 people in 3 private rooms and 2 shared rooms, all sharing three comfortable bathrooms.

With two amazing rooftop terraces, overlooking the surf spots in the Taghazout area, we would love to welcome you to enjoy your days at Salt Surf Taghazout.

Surf lessons, guiding & equipment, yoga is all available on site. If you are lucky can enjoy one of our famous BBQ parties.

How did you like the accommodation?

     

The town is a nice surfer village currently undergoing some development- there is some distant noise from the work taking place but nothing disruptive when in the hostel. Will be a shame when it is finished as I fear the charm of Taghazout will be taken away. There are a few restaurants, some local and some offering European food, fast food options too.

How did you like the surf lessons?

     

The beaches were great, especially the local one for beginners as the waves were small in January, perfect for me. The instructors were both super friendly and attentive, classes were small (max 3 people when I was there) so you had a lot of one to one attentions fun tips

Surf Lessons we offer:

Beginner Surf Lessons

Our lessons are 2.5 hours per day including Surfboard & Wetsuit for the full day. Normally we start at 11 am (depending on wave conditions). You will learn everything from standing techniques to turning and finally paddling outside and learning how to catch green (unbroken) waves.

Intermediate Surf Lessons

We will take you to the best waves in the area for your ability. Each lesson includes 2.5 hours of lesson. Surfboard and Wetsuit are included for the whole day. You will learn more about reading the waves, waves are formed, how weather conditions create the surf and be given the step by step guidance that will have you up and riding the waves on your first day.

Private Surf Lessons

Our private lessons include 2.5 hours of teach and wetsuit & surfboard rental for the full day. Your private teacher will be with you in the water to make you pop up on the board.

Surf Guide

We offer surf guiding for those who want to explore the coast and experience the best waves.

Yoga

We offer yoga classes in the evening on our rooftop terrace.
