The Place

Lemon Tree Beach Hostel is a hostel for everyone who looks for a nice, friendly and quiet place by the beach.

Located in a small beach village near Lourinhã and Peniche, Portugal, with the sea just 3 minutes walk, and known by its variety of natural environments, that goes from almost 10km’s of sand beaches to country-side landscapes.

It’s also worldwide famous by its archaeological finds that make this region one of the most important areas on the Jurassic period, and it’s not rare to find fossils while you stroll along the coast line.

How did you like the accommodation?

     

A place where you feel at home (thanks to Christine & Nuno)! Warm, friendly, peacefully and easy atmosphere. I enjoyed every second of the 14 days, which I was staying with my 2 kids (14, 16) and only can highly recommend the Lemon Tree Hostel!

Lovely people, great atmosphere, fun and professional teachers. Exceeded my expectations massively. Keep it going and thanks!

How did you like the accommodation?

     

Nuno was very helpfull and friendly. The rooms are comfortable, beds are very Good. Everybody at lemon tree is very kind and they make you feel very wellcome. Would stay there again!

How did you like the surf lessons?

     

Ripar Surf School is the perfect combination of serious and fun. Classes are punctual and well planned according to surf conditions. Instructors are friendly, attentive and adapt tuition to individual needs. Areia Branca is a lovely location for this well-run school, uncrowded and unspoilt by tourism.
There are also great yoga lessons available, which are highly recommended to enhance the experience. I had an amazing time and will definitely be back soon for more!

We are located in the best surf coast of Europe, which stretches from Peniche to Ericeira, in the center of Portugal. Our beach village offers amazing conditions for learning or for advanced surfing. If the waves are not good on our beach, our van take you to other surf spots all within a maximum of 10 minutes drive.

Surf Lessons we offer:

Kids Surf Lessons

The Kid's surf course is for ages from 6 to 14. The Surf courses are given normally from Monday to Friday. Kid's will surf twice a day, and each surf session last approximately 2h. Considering safety, sea and weather conditions, kid's under 10 are with a surf instructor at all time.

Beginner Surf Lessons

The Surf courses are given normally from Monday to Friday. You will surf twice a day, and each surf session last approximately 2h. So, if you spend your days behind the desk, don't forget to practice some sports before your surfing holidays.

Advanced Surf Lessons

The surf spot and class schedule choice, is made according with the surf instructor's experience, considering safety, sea and weather conditions, participants skills (and sure, variety), splitting groups, whenever it seems convenient, and sending them to different spots that best match the skills of the corresponding group.
