When it comes to nightlife the infamous surf town of Hossegor in France knows how to party.  For over 20 years it has been host to some of the best surf contests in the world, and the best surfers in the world.  So naturally the town's amazing waves, and pumping social scene attract surfers from around the world to its great bars and clubs.  Here are a few of our favourites to try out when you're in town next:

  • 1- Rockfood
Place des Landais, 40150 Hossegor

If there is one bar that attracts every pro surfer and their fans, it is Rock Food.  Located right on the Atlantic coast, with stunning views of the ocean, especially at sunset, Rock Food is one of the best places to enjoy a late meal, a few drinks, before joining everyone on the dance floor for the night.  Rock Food has sponsored numerous surf competitions, and often helps to hold outdoor surf film premiers.

  • 2- Dick's Sand Bar
Place des Landais, 40150 Hossegor

Opposite Rock Food Bar lies one of Hossegor's institutions of fun- Dick's Sand Bar. Set in the basement of a hotel, DSB may be small, but it manages to fit in more than enough people, music, drinks, and general craziness to pack the dance floor and attract surfers, travellers, and the pro surfers as well.  It may be chilled in the day, but come late evening, the bar will fill up with some of the best looking people in Europe.

  • 3- Cafe de Paris
547 Avenue du TCF
40150 Hossegor

Quite possibly the best place to eat and drink in Hossegor's town centre if you're looking to get within the thick of things early.  Cafe de Paris is an easy going cafe with a good menu and even better coffee, but the best thing about the cafe is the location- on the corner at the heart of the town.  So it's a perfect place to people watch, or celeb spot, especially after the end of a competition.
