A private country house on an organic farm at the edge of the stunning Óbidos Lagoon. With a great view over the wetland Braço da Barrosa, it will allow you enjoy a stay like no other, where the light reflects everywhere, as well as natural sounds and breezes. A perfect spot to relax in nature after a day surfing.
The property consisting of a plot of 160 square feet (15.000m2 to 300mx50m) between the National Forest Reserve and the National Ecological Reserve (REN) that reaches the lagoon.
The house is a very spacious (130m2) with a contemporary approach combining traditional Portuguese architecture. It has a modern kitchen, living room (with double futon for 2 people), a dining room, a double bedroom and a single bedroom. It has all modern conveniences such as washing and storage area. Out front is a beautiful Organic swimming pool (30mx10m) overlooking the lagoon.
The Private garden with 300m2 area, consists of a balcony, terrace, patio area, greenhouse with garden furniture for outdoor dinning, seating area and barbecue.
This property resulted from a design to thinking approach to creating a self to sustainable system by implementing an organic farming, an organic pool, a rustic garden, restoration of grassland and vegetation cover through autochthonous varieties, combining with the existent pine, oak, olive trees, vineyard, orchard and vegetable garden.
Location
15 min drive from Foz do Arelho surf beach and 20 minutes from the surf beaches of Peniche.
Recognizing the value of preserving the natural surrounds, we intend to demonstrate that it is possible to reconcile the human practices of leisure with the recovery and protection of the landscape.

The best thing about the Peniche & Baleal peninsula is that the beaches face both north and south, and are all within a few kilometres of each other. So on nearly all conditions there is surf - it is well known as one of Portugal's most consistent surf destinations and a great place for a Surfing Holiday.
The WSL World Tour comes to Peniche every year in October and is a great time to visit if you want to watch the worlds best surfers such as Kelly Slater, Gabriel Medina & Mick Fanning battle it out to win. Surf everyday while watching the event also.
The areas main surf beach is called Cantinho da Baía, its starts in Peniche and ends up in the area knows as Baleal. The spot is famous for its consistency and for being ideal for beginners and intermediate surfers and is where some of the best Baleal Surf Camps are located. Protected from the bigger swell by the headland makes it’s almost always possible to surf here even when there is big swell hitting the coast. The beach stretches 4kms further west with many spots to surf - a great place to get away from crowds.
On the other side of the Baleal headland is Prainha, another great protected surf spot for beginner and intermediate surfers. And next to this is Lagide , a reef break and one of the best surf spots in Portugal if you have big swell and southerly winds. It's a long perfect left with a shallow reef at low tides - great for intermediate/advanced surfers.
On the other side of Peniche (south) is the area's and arguably Portugal's most famous break Supertubos . It's a powerful wave breaking in very shallow sand bar, advanced/pro surfers only! Other waves such as Molhe Leste, Consolação, Porto Batel and Almagreira are all close by giving every kind of alternative including many uncrowded areas; a great area to explore and Surf Portugal's best waves!
And don't forget you can head south and surf Ericeira - less than an hour's drive away.

CANCELLING YOUR BOOKING
- To cancel go to the MyAccount section and log in or register and you can cancel from within your account.
- Your deposit is non refundable but can be used for the same property/surf school within one year of your original booking.
- You can cancel anytime up to 30 days before travelling and you will be refunded the balance.

How did you like the accommodation?
Loved it !! It was in a beautiful area, really relaxing. It was accessable to some great places like Baleal and Peniche. Loved the beaches and my son and husband loved the surf. We did not book lessons, we just did our own thing.

Okecasal can be summed up as a perfect peaceful haven.....the architecturely design of the house makes it suitable for a family /friends of 3-4 people.The organic pool is so much more natural and nicer than a chemically treated pool.... The view of the lagoon from the deck is a memory that will remain with me for a very long time.All in all a very,very special place....
How were the surf lessons?
Unfortunately we didn't get around to surfing....we would very much like to get back though again...
