Magikvanilla is a converted traditional Portuguese house with spacious common areas, sundecks, chill to out spots and balconies.

The surf camp sits in one of the few secluded properties in Ericeira. Right next to it, the community garden and a picnic park give it a feel of being surrounded by nature and sea.
Within minutes, you can walk to different beaches or pop down the town centre. And you just need to go down the road to find a pharmacy, supermarket or restaurant.
The camp offers dorms up to 5 people, double and twin rooms in the main house, and two bungalow – the Duke and Captain Jack, with private bathroom and lounge. You’re also welcome to use the kitchen, barbeque and TV lounge at any time; as well as our sun decks, swimming pool and terraces.
Location
This beautiful seaside town, once home for the Phoenicians, became the county of Ericeira in 1229. By then, seafarers, royalty and wanderers already enjoyed the same beaches, valleys and bays as we do today.
In 2011, Ericeira became the first World Surf Reserve in Europe, second in the world. A place praised for 8 km of shoreline brimming with world to class surf spots, and one of the most preserved surf to havens on the planet.
It is a small town, but full of life. Especially in the sunny seasons, when days and nights are warm and long to lasting. The centre is bubbling with people, street fairs, lovely shops and a great variety of bistros, cafes and terraces. The evening starts slow, with plenty of restaurants serving dinner until late, pubs, bars, folk parties and even a Club open until 6 am in the Summer.

Surf Lessons we offer:
Beginner Surf Lessons
Our instructors have vast experience in teaching beginner surfers how to safely learn the basic skills & to get you standing up on a board & riding a wave! They are qualified surf coaches as well as qualified surf lifesavers. Your lesson will be 2 hours long with equipment included & beach transfer. Our ratio of instructor-student is 1:5. Our aim is to give you a fun & safe surfing holidays.
Intermediate Surf Lessons
If you already learned the basics, we can take you further. One of our instructors will take you in a different group and teach you the skills to take your surf to the next level. This lesson will be "tailor-made" you will be accessed and work with your instructor to improve the skills you want, so you can make the most out of your surfing holidays.
Private Surf Lessons
Private lessons are available for both beginners and intermediate surfers. This type of lesson needs to be planned and booked in advance.

Best time to go depends on your level above. July, August & September are the peak tourist months.
This is where you surf Europe's best coast line and let the fun begin.There are over 12 surf breaks along the Ericeira coast, with different options for all standards. With so much choice you'll feel like a kid in a sweet shop! The area was introduced in the Stormriders Surf Guide to Europe with the heading "Enter the Heartland".
World Surf Reserve
In 2011 it was awarded the title of 'World Surf Reserve', there are only 2 other places in the world that share the title: Santa Cruz, US and Manly, Australia.
If it is your first surfing holiday to Ericeira then head straight to Foz do Lizandro and Sao Juliao beaches south of town, they are perfect beginner and intermediate surf spots. Closer to town is Praia do Sul. Another great beginner beach breaks. All best at mid tide but surfable at high and low tide also.
For Intermediates you have the reliable and safe reef break Ribeira d'Ilhas, which host the WSL World qualifying series surf championships every year. And for the more adventurous you have the world class Coxos. That's just naming a few, there are too many surf breaks to mention here!
Don't forget to explore further up the coast - 25 minutes away is Santa Cruz and an hour away is Peniche, home to the World renowned Supertubos and host of the Rip Curl Pro since 2009. 30 minutes south of Lisbon is the Cascais coast with the famous Praia do Guincho surf beach. And when north winds are blowing you can venture further south towards Carcevelos beach and the other surf spots along the Lisbon coast.

CANCELLING YOUR BOOKING
- To cancel go to the MyAccount section and log in or register and you can cancel from within your account.
- Your deposit is non refundable but can be used for the same property/surf school within one year of your original booking.
- CANCELATIONS AND REFUNDS All cancellations must be sent in writing/email wherever possible and will be effective on the date which they are received by Magikvanilla. Amazing place run by an incredible team! I've been 3 times now and am going back again for New Year's. I just can't get enough of this fun and beautiful place. Definitely recommended for lively groups/friends/couples or solo travellers who want an active, exciting and friendly holiday!

How did you like the accommodation?
I first came to this magikal place last year with my little sister. I was so amazed that I came back this year with 8(!!!) of my friends from college and each and every one of them loved it as much as I did.
The staff is so nice and gentle, the instructors are very patient and cheer you up for every little progress you make! Even though the conditions where very tough this time they made us surf green waves, practicing turns and even little tricks on the board.
The rooms and the whole hostel was all tidy and you find everything you might need for a vacation like that. Found many new friends that I hope to see again soon. We're planing a reunion for next May. This will be my third visit there then I can't wait for it to come. Steve and Susie are giving their best to offer you an amazing time.
You'll have awesome BBQ nights, awesome trips to Sintra or Lissabon or just nice evenings out at one of the many nice bars and restaurants in Ericeira!!! I can totally recommend magikvanilla to everyone who is open minded and interested in having a really, really good time!!!

How did you like the accommodation?
Magikvanilla is such an amazing place. The staff there are extremely nice and friendly and are always there to give advice on what to do and see. The hostel is located walking distance from the beautiful village of Ericeira.
It has the most beautiful beaches, cobbled streets, funky surf shops, cheap cheap delicious food and the best ice cream I've ever tasted! It's a holiday that everyone should experience :)
How were the surf lessons?
The surf instructors genuinely want their guests to learn how to surf and will push you until they have you catching some green waves.

Magikvanilla is by far the best place I have ever stayed. Ericeira has all the best bits of being a beautiful fishing village and a great place to party.
The guys at Magikvanilla are such welcoming & friendly people that go out of their way to make sure everyone has a great time whether you're in a group or on your own.
The bbq night was great fun, id love to go back when they have street parties and surf competitions on. I miss it already, and I was only there last week!
How were the surf lessons?
The surf lessons are done so that there are only a few people to every surf instructor (fully qualified and experienced guys, good to have when you're getting tired and think you may not make it past the next wave!)

How did you like the accommodation?
The surf house itself is so great! Balconies, hammocks, couches, DVD room etc so many places to relax and have a good time, and most of the rooms are decorated with nice paintings and posters of surfing philosophy, all things that provides for such a great atmosphere !
There are no doubt, that the owners Steve and Susie has put a lot of work and thinking into creating and designing this place.
BUT the thing that truly makes MagikVanilla magic is the people at the place.
The owners Steve and Susie are some of the most outgoing, friendly and helpful people you can find. James and Andre are both great instructors and nice to talk to.
The driver and barbecue master Denver is a great funny guy with a lot of nice recommendations.
How were the surf lessons?
The surfing lesson where great too! The instructors did a great job helping teaching and making everybody feel safe while being in the water. I instantly fell in love with the whole surfing thing, it's hard, but when you get a hang of it, it is such an amazing feeling!

Had a great experience. A big thank you to Steve, Susie, Denver, JLo, Andre and the girls for a truly magical experience! I would highly recommend Magikvanilla to everyone! I booked a week's holiday hoping to get a bit of surfing experience, meet some nice people and stay in a pretty area and my expectations were exceeded!
The owners and staff were open, warm and welcoming and the hostel had a distinct backpacker vibe to it but with 4 stars. There were plenty of bathrooms, so you were never waiting long to get cleaned up for a night out or just for a refreshing shower after a day in the sun. There were lots of areas to chill out inside and out with a TV room, computer station, balconies, sun decks, hammocks and seating areas.
The kitchen was great and the hub of the hostel like every good home, and yes it did feel very homely! ;0) Everybody socialised together either cooking, going for a few beers in town, doing a bit of sightseeing or just chilling at the hostel.
The area is great with beaches, supermarkets and town a short walk away.
The town is very picturesque and has fantastic restaurants and bars.
How were the surf lessons?
The surfing lessons were extremely professional and the instructors were all very patient, supportive and encouraging.
