Casa de Ribeira is a high end Bed & Breakfast & Surf House, which secretly lies on top of a green hill overlooking Ribeira d’Ilhas surf beach, in the very heart of Ericeira's World Surfing Reserve. We have a beautiful garden and an eco to friendly pool. There's place to store your boards, wash & dry your wetsuit, relax and barbecue with friends and other guests. We are surrounded by hectares of green land and a dreamlike ocean view.
Casa de Ribeira is a high end luxury Villa, offering breathtaking views, the beauty of Nature and Silence. From the Guest House, you can walk within 10 to 15 minutes to the ocean and beach, or wander on the cliffs along the coastline. Ericeira is a charming, picturesque and traditional fishing village with some of the best surfing spots in Europe to it has 7 waves classified as World Surfing Reserve.
Casa de Ribeira is a private Villa, located near Ericeira, and only 45 km away of Lisboa. It is a private and intimate Guest House, that can provide a tailor to made stay to each Traveller. Close attention to details and personalized services allow us to treat each Guest as a Friend.
The estate has a main house with 4 charming Suites, twin or double, all with enclosed bathroom, private furnished terraces and breathtaking views over the mountains and the Atlantic ocean. Next to the main house is the ‘Adventure Studio‘, a pool house with a BBQ kitchen, which we like to address as our ‘mini Surf Camp’. This is a 5 place bedroom, ideal for youngsters and/or surf lovers.
Casa de Ribeira has a warm, light, welcoming and familiar atmosphere. The Villa contains all necessary items to ensure comfort, rest and enjoyment, like high quality furniture, mattresses, private terraces and balconies. There is one large common living room with fireplace, an amazing garden, a salted water pool and a shaded pergola. Our Guests are welcome to use the facilities of the outdoor BBQ kitchen to make their own light lunch, snack or dinner.

Ericeira's World Surfing Reserve is a world-class surf zone that has a huge variety of waves ranging from beachbreak to powerful reef breaks, with adequate spots from absolute beginners to intermediate / professional surfers. The area include iconic spots such as Ribeira d’Ilhas, Matadouro and Coxos.

Kids Surf Lessons

Ribeira d'Ilhas
Level: Intermediate
If you are an Intermediate Surfer, come on and try the reliable and safe reef break Ribeira d'Ilhas, which hosts the WSL World qualifying series surf championships every year.
For the more adventurous, try the world class Coxos.
Foz do Lizandro
Level: Beginner
'World Surf Reserve' is a title awarded in 2011 to Ericeira coast line, with 7 classified waves.
There are only 2 other places in the world that share the title: Santa Cruz, US and Manly, Australia.
If it is your first surfing holiday to Ericeira then head straight to Foz do Lizandro and Sao Juliao beaches south of town, they are perfect beginner and intermediate surf spots.

Best time to go depends on your level above. July, August & September are the peak tourist months.
This is where you surf Europe's best coast line and let the fun begin.There are over 12 surf breaks along the Ericeira coast, with different options for all standards. With so much choice you'll feel like a kid in a sweet shop! The area was introduced in the Stormriders Surf Guide to Europe with the heading "Enter the Heartland".
World Surf Reserve
In 2011 it was awarded the title of 'World Surf Reserve', there are only 2 other places in the world that share the title: Santa Cruz, US and Manly, Australia.
If it is your first surfing holiday to Ericeira then head straight to Foz do Lizandro and Sao Juliao beaches south of town, they are perfect beginner and intermediate surf spots. Closer to town is Praia do Sul. Another great beginner beach breaks. All best at mid tide but surfable at high and low tide also.
For Intermediates you have the reliable and safe reef break Ribeira d'Ilhas, which host the WSL World qualifying series surf championships every year. And for the more adventurous you have the world class Coxos. That's just naming a few, there are too many surf breaks to mention here!
Don't forget to explore further up the coast - 25 minutes away is Santa Cruz and an hour away is Peniche, home to the World renowned Supertubos and host of the Rip Curl Pro since 2009. 30 minutes south of Lisbon is the Cascais coast with the famous Praia do Guincho surf beach. And when north winds are blowing you can venture further south towards Carcevelos beach and the other surf spots along the Lisbon coast.

Quiet and sophisticated retreat in the Portuguese surf meca - Ericeira
Graça and Paula are the perfect hosts and casa da Ribeira a quiet and sophisticated retreat in the Portuguese surf meca. When you arrive at Casa da Ribeira, just a couple of minutes away from the busy Ribeira d’Ilhas beach, Paula and Graça will welcome you in a beautiful property with amazing views. Enjoy the sunset by the pool, have a tasty breakfast with local products, get the most of the sunshine even in winter. If you come to surf but also want some peace, tranquility and sophistication this is the right place. If you are travelling with family and not everyone is willing to jump in the water with a board, your hosts will organize other activities like horse riding, walks, wine tasting, etc just ask for it and they will find it for you.

Great Stay!
My friends and I had a great stay at Casa de Ribeira. Graca and Paula were good enough to provide a transfer and make us very welcome. From the moment we arrived and were shown around their lovely house, we felt relaxed and at home, and we were given some really good tips about places to go and things to do in and around Ericeira. It's a spectacular location, with great beaches and a quaint fishing harbour. Planning to go again already!

Warm and loving Home away from home
I stayed at Casa de Ribeira for 5 nights at the end of June and had a beautiful stay. Graça and Paula a such wonderful women and made my stay so very comfortable and warm. I went on a couple of tours with them as well as they were delighted to show me all the wonderful things the area had to offer. Paula took me and my friend to Mafra to visit the beautiful Palace with its incredible old library. What a treat! Graça showed as an old restored Portuguese village and lovely vineyard nearby. The villa and rooms are beautifully decorated and away from all the hustle and bustle, perfect for quiet time, delicious sleeps and relaxing by the pool with ocean & sunset views. Thank you ladies for an amazing stay, I'll sure be back!!
Suggestion: Book upstairs rooms as they have balcony with incredible views and great for soaking in the sun :)

Com uma vista de cortar a respiração, um atendimento 5 estrelas, o pequeno almoço e a decoração fazem-me querer voltar sem dúvida!"
