Located 400 mts from the beach, we are walking distance to anything important in Tamarindo. We have a pool that will save you in this heat, all our rooms have AC and private bathrooms. We have security at night, free coffee and parking. You can cook in the hostel or go out to any of the 120 restaurants Tamarindo has to offer. We are here to help you have a great time in this beautiful city.
Location
We are located 50 mts East from Banco Nacional (National Bank), I know is not an exact adress, but here in Costa Rica is how we roll. Don´t worry about not being able to find us, we are the first hostel in Tamarindo, in business for more than 15 years, worst case scenario, just ask somebody on the street, they will point you to the right path.

The norther Pacific side of Costa Rica is best know for its fun waves rather than epic 10 foot advanced surf!
Air temperature in the north is the same year round 32°C. The seasons are divided in two: dry Season from December to April and wet season from May to November. Dry season is the busiest time for tourism in Costa Rica and they call it their summer.
Tamarindo is a year round surf destinations. The bigger swell season is from April to October. From December to March you tend to get smaller but clean 4 foot waves and is probably the best time to go. Wind is not usually a big factor but as with most places the morning will be best for glassy offshore conditions.
Surf beaches around Tamarindo
The main surf beach in the area is Playa Grande, a very consistent long beautiful beach break for intermediates. La Casita across the estuary is a fast beach break. El Estero is the fast rivermouth, great for longboarder surfers.
Surfing Tamarindo beach itself is great for all levels with Pico Pequeno & Pico Grande for more advanced. Further south is Playa Langosta, rocky underneath the surface and offering fun waves. Playa Avellanas is the most stunning beach in the area and suits all standards. One of Costa Roca's best. Playa Negra further south is an excellent right hand reef break over crystal clear water.

How did you like the accommodation?
This is my third time at the hostel in a year. Why? This place is amazing and makes me feel like I'm at home. Manuel (the owner) is always there, he is always smiling and willing to do whatever it takes to make sure you have a pleasant stay. The community areas are very clean, you'll never see trash on the floor or in the kitchen. This time I stayed in the mix room, I didn't know anybody but at the end it was like rooming with a bunch of friends. I didn't need to leave the hostel, just for a surfing lesson with Marcos (which btw is a must). Guests are always sharing stories at the pool, sometimes at night there is a chef making fresh sushi (me as a chef, if he is making it, you must try it too). I can keep going and going naming good things but try it for yourself, you won't regret it! Pura vida and I'll be back!

Tenía mucho susto ya que no sabía que encontraría, pero al llegar a este lugar me tope con personal super amable, los dueños super simpáticos y gentiles, muy limpio el lugar en general, la habitación super espaciosa y limpia, la piscina muy linda y segura, mis hijas amaron el lugar y lo mejor es que puedes cocinarles a tus consentidas lo que ellas realmente quieren. La playa esta cerquita puedes ir caminando. En general bello lugar y 100% recomendado.

How did you like the accommodation?
It was my first time in a Hostel but I'm really happy that I chose this one. Since the first moment I got in touch with the hostel to ask about Tarmarindo and surfing lessons the hostel was totally friendly and patient. (I had a lot of questions ;-)) The service which this hostel offers to their customers is gorgeous. The staff is helpful at any time and the rooms are great and clean. There's a nice pool and cool relaxing area with settees and a swing set which invites you to relax and also get easily in touch with other people. Two fridges and a kitchen are available if you want to cook. Sometimes the hostel organized to have sushi or burgers for the evening. The hostel is a short walk away from the beach and the town. I had 6 surfing lessons, duration 2hours, with Marcos. You can book the surfing lessons directly at the Hostel. I never surfed before and Marcos is a really great teacher!! Highly recommended to everybody who wants to start surfing! Finally I have to say if you decide to stay in this hostel you will definetly enjoy it.

How did you like the accommodation?
Having never stayed in a hostel before, me and my friend had some doubts prior to arriving at La Botella De Leche. However, after reading all the great reviews we decided to give it a shot and it was the best decision I've ever made. From the moment I walked in I could see why this place had the high ratings it did.
Firstly and most importantly, the staff at this hostel are truly the most friendly and accommodating staff I've encountered. Right upon arrival, a staff member (Leo) was preparing dinner (smelled delicious) in the kitchen and offered some to us. Unfortunately we had already ate but it just goes to show how they really go well out of their way to welcome you and make you feel at home. Furthermore, if you're looking for surfing lessons, Marcos is your man! Very experienced, amazing instructor and a even better person. You can tell he takes his job very seriously but also knows how to have fun. I was able to stand on a wave quickly and so were the other two people in the lesson.
Secondly, the rooms are very clean and well taken care of. We stayed in an 8 person dorm and everyone was very respectful of each other's space and kept the room tidy. There is also a cozy lounge area, pool, AC... no complaints at all!
Bottom line, stay here! Would definitely recommend this place to friends wanting to visit Tamarindo. My only regret is we couldn't stay longer!

Magnifique hostel près de la plage .Excellents restos et bars à proximité .Les propriétaires sont accueillants et les chambres sont propres.Nous sommes allés en janvier 2017.À découvrir entre amis ou en famille !!!!
