Our Surf Camp is located in Caleta de Famara. The surfhouse is located just 90 meters from the surf beach and 150 meters from the school and the village center where you will find all various restaurants and supermarkets so you can choose to eat out or buy what you need and cook at home because the surf house is fully equipped for it. It includes all the necessary facilities including lounges & wifi.
The house is a typical canary house converted into a surf house. The house can accommodate up to 14 guests in various size of room. We have shared and private rooms. Calima house is practically two minutes walk from the towns main Street (Our surf shop) and beach.
In the surf house you will meet people all over Europe and you will share your daily surfing with them. We have a large BBQ and Chill out area for your relax after the lessons in the sunny rooftop terrace.
Surf lessons, guiding & equipment is all available on site.
Location
We are based in the heart of Famara town in the North of Lanzarote island (Maybe you are already aware of the popular surf location).
The town in based in a beautifully protected National Park. Directly opposite the town is the popular and amazing surf beach of Famara. 6 km of unspoiled, uncrowded clean golden sand beach. The direction and natural curve of the beach provides a perfect setting for all levels of surfers and a fantastic place to conduct our daily surf lessons and coaching. We are hardly ever let down by the beaches offering of wave peaks and teaching conditions. Alternative spots for intermediate and advanced surfers are offered at the famous La Santa, located 10 minutes drive south of us.
The surrounding scenario here is incredible and one of our most precious assets. To the North of the beach are stunning cliffs that also provide good protection from the trade winds and directly behind us is a wonderful landscape full of the island Volcanos. Great to explore on rest days!
The town itself provides nothing more than the essentials. Which is perfect, as its fits in well with the setting. But also provides everything that will be required for our clients needs.
There are a handful of good local well priced restaurants, grocery stores with products from Lanzarote and surf shops, including our own based in the centre of the town one minute walking from the beach.
We really are proud to offer a totally different atmosphere and experience!!

Additional Fees:
If your Check-in hour at the Surf House the day of your arrival at camp is after 20:00, when our office is already closed, we will ask you for a fee of 18 euros payable in cash to the person who will be waiting for you at your arrival.

If your children already like surfing or want to try this sport, Calima Surf offer courses to teach or improve their technique.
Lessons have a duration of 2 hours and are intended for children as young as 10.

Private Surf Lessons

The duration of the lesson is 2 hours.
Lessons lasting more than one day include video analysis. Video analysis is performed while you are surfing lessons and will be used after training to analyse and improve your technique.
Yoga
1 hour and a half session a day.
The Yoga sessions cover asana (positions), pranayama (breathing), meditation (mindfulness), mantras and relaxation. With Alba Balada, the NAAD yoga sessions -sound yoga- end with relaxation to direct sound: piano, guitar, voice, hang drum, gong, shamanic drum and other sacred instruments. You will disconnect and feel relaxation like never before
SUP Lessons
All the material necessary (board, oar and wetsuit)
Theory and practical lessons in calm waters for 2 hours a day.

The best waves occur in the north half of Lanzarote. The Island has consistent year round surf and 22 degree plus sunshine meaning you don't need a thick wetsuit and in the summer you can get by in a shortie or even just shorts!
Lessons often occur on the Lanzarote's most reliable surf beach, Playa de Famara, on the north west coast of the island. A beautiful white sand beach that stretches for 6km and is surrounded by the stunning Famara mountain range. Another great beginners area is the north east of the island in Arrieta.
Surfing Lanzarote is all about the north part of the island. The area from Playa de Famara to La Santa has been described by the Stromriders Surf Guide as "one of the best surf locations in Europe!" This stretch of Lanzarote picks up all the north and west swells and contains a mix of surf breaks facing numerous different directions. So no matter what way the wind is blowing there will always be a range of peaks to surf.
The more intermediate/ advance area is 'El Centro' in La Santa, in the north west and not far from Famara, it’s a solid reef break, best at high tide.
Travel around the north of the island and you will find many different breaks including some world class 'lava reefs'. Each September the WSL World Tour comes to town with the 6 star prime event. The worlds best surfers compete for the €125,000 in prize money.
