The
area around Lahinch,
in the West of Ireland, offers a huge selection of surf spots
ranging from mellow beginners beaches to
epic reefs and points.
Our
accommodation is situated just off Lahinch’s main street
allowing easy access to the main beginners beach and its excellent
left reefs.
Lessons
We
team up with John McCarthy’s Surf School
for our lessons. John, one
of the first Irish surfers to surf the nearby big wave Aileens,
is current Irish Senior Surf Champion.

All
lessons will include a bit on surf etiquette, water safety,
wave forecasting, tides and optimum surf weather conditions.
The
surf school is fully approved and insured by the Irish
Surfing Association.
Surf Beaches
As
always you can of course take to the water and explore for
yourself…
A
few kms south of Lahinch is Spanish point
which has a mellow beach break and some excellent rights.
Keep going towards Kilkee and you will find
many more spots.
Travel
a few kms North and you will find the magnificent Cliffs
of Moher. When the conditions are good enough you
might see some tow in surfers surfing Ireland’s monster
wave “Aileens”.
Continue
on a few kms north reaching the Burren and
you will come across many beautiful beaches including Fanore,
another perfect surf spot for beginners.
