The 40 beach breaks along the Ericeira coast cater for all. And for the more intermediate and advanced you'll feel like a kid in a candy shop!

The area was introduced in the Stormriders Guide to Europe with the heading "Enter the Heartland"

And if you've never surfed before Ericeira is the perfect beginning - surfing so many beaches in great 30 degree sunshine?

Lessons

We team up with Na Onda Surf School to offer the best rates for surfing in Ericeira. Lessons for beginners, kids and advanced with very good quality equipment to rent. You will not get cheaper prices than the below.

Na Onda surf school is officially licensed through the FPS (Portuguese Surfing Federation) with fully qualified instructors and follows all safety standards.

Alternatively explore for yourself - For beginners you can take your board to Foz do Lizandro, an extremely reliable surf beach a 5 min. walk South of the apartment.

Alternatively, you can walk 5 minutes North to Praia do Sol and surf here. Both are excellent beach breaks.

A 5 minute drive further South is Sao Julio - another great beach break for beginners that works in similar conditions.

Don't forget to explore Santa Cruz and Peniche. Details of which can be found in the info packs in the apartment or on virtually every surf site!!!

For Intermediates you have the reliable and safe reef break, Riberia d'Ilhas, which host the ASP World qualifying series every year.

And for the more adventurous (or suicidal!) you have the world class Coxos and Supertubos.

Windsurfing can be done 20 minutes south at the famous Praia do Guicho near Cascais.

Then when north winds are blowing you can head further south towards Carcevelos and other apots along the Lisbon coast.
