  • Well...what can I say? It was just fab! Ainara was so nice and helpful, the place was super clean, and in the perfect spot for going out to the old town of an evening (for a few drinks). We REALLY enjoyed the surfing lessons (our instructor was Ramon). We, all 4, were able to get up on the board and have some good runs in, which was very satisfying - and next time, we'll be ready to rent some boards and just practice catching waves!! I'd definitley go back to San Sebastian and if I did I would stay at the Aldamar again. We always found many good place to eat in the evening and we had such a great variety of food, the nightlife was great too - although the late nights made the following days surfing interesting! All in all a great holiday - thanks! - Inge-Marie, Conneticut, USA/li>

  • We had a great surf holiday, really loved San Sebastian. It's a beautiful city with lots to see and do. The surf was also really good. Unfortunately I hurt my knee the week before we travelled so I was unable to surf as much as I would have liked. The days we did get out though, I really enjoyed. The accomodation was nice. It had everything we needed. The beaches were lovely. Very clean and close to the accomodation. We spent most of our evenings wandering around the 'Old Town', popping in and out of different bars and thoroughly enjoyed this. Would definitly consider going back to SS in the future - Mark, Dublin

  • Hotel was great and staff were very helpful. Perfectly located for visits to the old town and the beaches. Didnt surf this time as focus was going to San Fermin for the Bull run! We managed to get a ride with a Busabout tour from San Sebastian to Pamplona - Matt, Leicster

  • San Sebastian was great. We found the hotel perfectly adequate. Great location too. Surf school was also good. Friendly bunch. All in all quite a good trip - Shane, London

  • We had a great surf holiday in San Sebastian!! The hotel was nice, clean and right next to the old town. Surfing lessons were very good as well! Conditions were great and our instructor (Paul) did a great job learning us how to surf. The night life in San Sebastian was also a blast! Wonderful lot and lots of pixtos (tapas) bars and great restaurants. Can't wait to plan our next surfing vacation! - Marc, Amsterdam

  • We had a Fab Holiday. San Sebastian was just the best place to visit. The food, the waves and the people were Guapo. The Aldamar was a perfect location and we will be recommending it to everyone we know. Our lesson was great too...waves were a little scary for beginners but we braved it. Let us know of any special offers that you guys are doing and thanks again for the help - Breda and Mairead, Ballyell

  • Had a brilliant time- thanks for all your help. Found the Pension really lovely and well located. I thought the package was really good value. Really enjoyed the surfing- found them to be just excellent, did the private classes, 2 of us iwith one instructor helped a lot. Have been recommending the place to loads of people. Anyway, hopefully will book with surfholidays again in the future - Maria, Dublin

  • San sebastian is the best of both worlds, a cool european city and a fantastic beach. pension aldamar is in a great location to make the most of it. we only used the pension for sleeping and showering, there is  a lot to do and see in san sebastian so there's no point hanging out in a hotel or the like! pension aldamar is clean, has nice staff, is in a great location and can't be beat in terms of value for money my opinion. it was perfect for our week in san sebastian.  Joe, Dublin

  • San sebastian is great city, and the Aldamar is a nice Pension with a great location. Sylvia, Holland

  • The Pension was great – clean and quiet and an excellent location; staff were very friendly. Both beaches were really fun, it was great to have two such contrasting places in such close proximity. The best thing we did was go to a sideria just outside San Sebastian – You get a set menu (including the largest piece of beef you’ll ever see in your life) and all the cider you can drink. Lucy, London

  • The accomodation was fine and clean. The staff was friendly, and the location was central. The surf was great even and the instructor was friendly and the experience was good in total. Kristine. Bergen, Norway

  • The best thing about the Aldamar is the location. Its just beside the old town and very near the beaches, the centre of town and the kursaal. Its near everything really. The rooms are very clean. The staff are helpful and friendly. We were three 30 year old girls and it suited us perfectly for a long weekend - Claire, Ireland

  • Rooms are very clean, perfect size, the bathroom was spotless. Beds are comfortable, pillows also. There 's a minibar in each room, which is rare in a small hotel. There is a computer in the hall that you can use for free, even though the entire hostal has wireless internet if you need to use your laptop. Best part: price and location. Hotels are a little expensive in San Sebastian, so this was the best choice considering both facts. You are near everywhere, a few steps of La Concha beach, which is the one you see in every photo of San Sebastian and it's the most popular. Also near the Old Town where you can have the best tapas (called pintxos here). I would definitely return to Aldamar if I go again to San Sebastian - Ana Maria, Ecuador

  • Perfectly located, right at the edge of the Old Town in San Sebastian. Just a short stroll to the beach and any sight you want to see. 15 minutes walk from the train station (Amara). The rooms are ensuite and some face the street and others face a courtyard. I would recommend the street facing rooms - a little noisy but there is lots to see outside your window. The standard room is not very big but is clean and well appointed. The staff are charming and extremely helpful. There is a great food shop next door - amazing hams, cheeses and wines. All in all very good and reasonably priced.  John, London
