  • We had an amazing holiday. Hotel was excellent, breakfast was lovely and the team were extremely knowledgeable, friendly and happy to help.  Surf school - David and the team were fantastic, we had an amazing time and have definitely got the surf bug. We are looking forward to returning some time next year! - Vicky, Essex

  • Booked a courtyard room and it was perfect, sea room was a bit too much extra and as the hotel is on the beach we don't think it was necessary. The hotel has a nice boutique feel to it and the staff were very friendly. Its has a fantastic location. We started each day with the breakfast and a view of the the early morning surfers.  The surf lessons were great, the steps down to Cote des Basque beach seem to go on forever but once you get to the bottom it is well worth it as its such a beautiful spot. We spent most days here as it was easy to get lunch and the changing rooms were much better than any on any UK beaches i've been to! Its also not as touristy as the main beach. The thousand steps bar is a great recommendation, people were just sitting out all evening watching the waves and the sunset. We spent most evenings in des Halles region and our favourite restaurant was Victor. We took a bus to San Sebastian for a day trip which i would recommend - Marcos and Libby, London

  • We had a fantastic time in Biarritz. We stayed in the courtyard view room and throughly enjoyed it. Accom was very clean and tidy at all times, staff were so friendly and welcoming. The surf school was only amazing, we were both standing by day 1 so we had already exceeded expectation in that regard, and we all felt that after 4 days lessons that we really achieved something with our lessons. The surf coaches were real cool and by end of week were more like mates than teachers, I think everybody on the trip enjoyed their company but also their competence at carrying out a truly professional job. Alas I've recommended surf holidays, le vague basque school and the hotel to a number of friends since I've come home - Thanks again Enda & Sile, Dublin

  • The trip went really well. The hotel was in an ideal location, and David at the surf school was both friendly and helpful and made the experience of learning to surf less daunting and very enjoyable. Biarritz itself had a great atmosphere, with a good selection of laid back bars and restaurants, and the surrounding beaches were very pretty - Sarah Jane, Fiona, Nessa & Janet, London

  • We had a ball in Biarritz, such a beautiful amazing city. The hotel was perfect, we had a fantastic sea view, v clean, Sofie was extremely helpful, and the breakfast cafe below was a great start to the day. We found the surf instructors attentive and helpful, and while we went to the same beach, Le Cotes des Basque, every day to surf, we didn't mind as we were just learning and it is such a beautiful beach, nicer than the Grand Plage. The town itself had a real buzz about it even though it was September, food was of really high quality but not exactly cheap. All in all we had a fantastic time. Definitely thinking of doing it again next year! Hope this is helpful - Jason and Sal, Bristol
