Biarritz, in South West France, has been described as the birthplace of European Surf. The city has two surf beaches, one of which is a super consistent beginners and longboarding beach and the other a more advance beginners/intermediate surf beach. It is the centre point of a region rich in surf and surfing culture. Small enough to explore on foot and big enough to offer a wide variety of bars, restaurants and nightlife.  It is host to major World Championship events and surf festivals throughout the year and offers a great mix of old school glitz with a laid back surf vibe.
