  • We had a great time. La Concha villas suited us perfectly. They were simple, clean with plenty of space for two people. Very close to town and easy to find. The flowers and the animals made the place a little different and definitely added to the experience. Surf lessons with Richie were really good. He really knows his stuff and was good fun at the same time. He was always trying to teach us about wave formations and structure and what to look out for so we'll know what to do when we are not taking lessons. He was full of useful tips on places to eat as well. we took his advice on two or three occasions and we always really enjoyed our meals. The landscape of the island is so different to any place I've ever been before. Its so dry and dusty that you would think nothing could grow but when we drove around the island everywhere were pockets of green that really stood out. we drove all around the island and  the volcanoes are everywhere.I liked Corralejo a lot. Its not too big or over developed with hotels. Even the biggest hotels seemed only a few stories high so there were no eyesores. We drove down to Morro Jable and it looked like a nice spot but the hotel complexes there were massive. we tried to eat somewhere different as much as possible and we followed the advice in your email. Citrus Surf Cafe is brilliant, I cannot recommend this place enough. The pizza restaurant you recommended definitely had the best pizzas, i think it was di napoli. I also think you guys should recommend a small little tapas bar in the old town. Its called Garacoles. We were complimenting the owner on the food and the really good house Rioja she was serving and she have us a bottle to take back with us - LEGEND! We were there on our first night and we went back again on our last. Thanks for organising the accommodation and lessons. I'll definitely be telling friends about it - Ed & Lucy, Kilkenny

  • La Concha was great, really good accom. Could have used a little bit of a more filled out kitchen like an oven but that's me really nit picking. Ritchie was an absolute hero! Really proffesional, great banter, full of knowledge and a brilliant teacher. Not a bad word I can say. Fuerteventura was one of the most beautiful places I've ever been and the surf on the reefs was unreal. Both Neil and I had a really memorable surf holiday and it certainly cemented my interest in surfing and gave me the knowledge I needed to progress. (Example, In Lahinch now and goin surfing tomorrow morning!). Keep up the great service I'm already looking into Portugal for the next trip! - Robin & Neil, Dublin

  • Well what a fantastic holiday, thank you. Richie collected us from the airport as arranged and drove us to Corralejo, giving us a quick guided tour of the town before taking us to the accommodation. The accommodation was great, clean bright and really cosy. It had everything we needed, well almost everything, it lacked a cork screw! But we bought one and left it there for the next people. The whole complex was clean and the staff worked really hard and were friendly, even showing me a hose and a sturdy washing line to hand and dry and wet suits. The surf lessons were amazing. We have both been surfing a while and so had picked up some bad habits. Richie was really patient and knowledgeable, both of the local breaks and were it was working and in terms of teaching. If we were unable to do what he was asking us to he would think of ways around the issue to get to the same outcome. We enjoyed the lessons so much that we actually booked an additional day with Richie on the Saturday. The town is good, Richie made us some good recommendations, not least not to eat in a restaurant with a picture of the food outside! Richie pointed out a great tapas place were we ate a couple of times and we found a great sea food place by the harbour. As you might be able to tell we had an amazing time in Fuerteventura, thanks so much for the holiday - Phil and Micky, Poole

  • I had an excellent week in Fuerteventura. Corralejo was a great town to be based in. It was lively without being too tacky or mental. The bungalows were great for me. They were very clean and had lovely staff, and I always managed to sleep very well. In terms of the lessons, Richie was incredibly knowledgeable and supportive. I felt that I improved over the week. He always picking the best spots, and he gave me a huge amount of advice and support that has only made my enthusiasm for improving even greater.  All in all, it was a great week. I would definitely go there again, but may try mainland Spain next - Matt, Bristol

  • Accommodation and surf lessons were great. I have no complaints about the holiday. I was very happy with the holiday - Jorrit, Dublin

  • Firstly, the La Concha bungalows....absolutely lovely! The beautiful gardens/foliage created a bit of privacy between each bungalow but also allowing for a quick chat with a neighbour if wanting to. Just beautiful, and due to the yoga set-up also there and Richie's connections with this, I was able to add in a few yoga classes. Richie was fantastic...a really thorough teacher and taught us key steps to take before even standing on the board....very useful. Plus he was always very attentive to each one of his students and constantly feeding back to us on our performance. Very good. I found him very friendly and easy to get on with but still keeping a professional manner about himself. We also all got together for tapas, a restaurant he chose which was really good of him to take time out from his usual evening. So from me, a big thumbs up and would definitely consider coming back for some more so thank you! Had a lovely holiday, just what I was looking for - Anita, Camberwell London

  • I really liked La Concha, the bungalow was clean and comfortable and the staff were really friendly.  The pool areas were really nice too, and the location is really good with a local supermarket and a short walk to the main street.  Only irritation was that the shower didn't stay hot for long but i think that is the same for everywhere as it doesnt rain!! The town was nice and had everything I needed, and you could walk on the beach back to the resort which was nice.  I didn't really eat out as I was poorly for a couple of days while I was there, but the few bars I did go to were good. Surf lessons were really good. Richie is a good teacher and very enthusiastic.  Travelling by myself the lessons were great for meeting people, and there was plenty of bar trips/meals organised which was brilliant.  The surfing was all very well organised and it was great to be taken to different parts of the island to find the best waves.  I did have a great time and I would recommend to others/go again myself - Carys, Cambridge

  • I had a fab time!! La Concha was lovely, clean, peaceful, and a good location, everything I wanted. In terms of the surfing, that made the holiday great, Richie was fab!! Fantastic instructor. He got me up on my board, showed me fab beaches, good places to eat, surf culture, and was generally a fab host, I know the description was 3 hours of lessons, but it tended to be more and I got the full surf experience!!! I have been raving about it to friends since and would love to go back!! Only condition is I want Richie to teach me!! Thanks again - Dana, Liverpool

  • AMAZING HOLIDAY! One of the best ever. Really good fun. La Concha was lovely to stay at. Richie was an absolute super star. Gave loads of tips on where to go etc. and was an excellent instructor – really really good. Helen had been away for a week last year and said the difference was substantial. He was very good. I’m actually going to write an article for the magazines and will be singing the praises. Loved going to the different beaches to surf and had some quality dinners too. All good - Helen, Manchester

  • We had a great time on the holiday. Richie was great, from the journey from the airport he filled us in on the local areas and drove us through the town so we got our bearings and pointed out the best places to go for coffee, breakfast, cocktails etc. We managed to have some great food thanks to the recommendations from Richie, I think our holiday would have been a lot less enjoyable without them!! La Concha was fine, the complex itself was nice and we used the pool a few mornings before our surf lessons. The surf lessons were great and Richie’s tutorials made all the difference. Having gone to a surf camp in Morocco last year I got so much more out of the week in Feurta. I went to Devon this weekend just gone as was dying to get back on my board, the water was a bit colder but had great fun putting my lessons in to practice. We are considering coming back for a cheeky weekend over the winter!! Thanks for a great holiday and a special thank you to Richie for making it great - Helen, London

  • I had a great time in Fuerteventura. The accomodation was lovely, there was a good group of people staying there that I got to know and Richie organised a night out on the Wednesay which was good. I liked the way the surf lessons were in the morning giving you the rest of the day to do whatever you wanted. The surf was great fun, I learned a lot from Richie and liked the small groups and his relaxed attitude towards the lessons. He showed us about the town when we first got there and was really helpful when giving advice about places to go and the different activities available. Richie pointed us in the direction of some nice chilled out places which we pretty much stuck to. I would go back for the surf and weather. Its really good value for money and I think I may return with a group of friends next year - Eimear, Surrey

  • My friend and I had a lovely holiday (very sad to be back). La Concha was ideally located and the room was nice and clean and had everything that we needed. Both of us really enjoyed the surfing lessons and have definitely been bitten by the surfing bug. Richie is a really great instructor and he took the time to explain the basics of surfing to us before sending us out into the water to do battle with the waves. Throughout the week he kept an eye on us and kept giving us pointers to help us improve and stay safe; he also explained technical points to us about catching waves, checking conditions etc. Whilst neither of us has come away a pro (yet!) we both definitely feel as though we are prepared enough to get back into the water again! We also got some great pictures courtesy of Gee. In terms of my views of the island itself, we found the beaches to be nice and clean and on the whole had great views. I found the main street to be rather too touristy for my tastes but Richie gave us some good recommendations on places to go that were a bit more local/chilled out; tapas at Pincha Cabra, fish at Gregorios in the old town, salads and burgers at Citrus Café, and my favourite the chimmichurri steaks at the Boardriders Café. All in all it was a really fantastic holiday. We were well looked after the whole time right through from Dave collecting us from the airport through to the accommodation and surfing lessons and (alas) being taken back to the airport at the end when it was time to go home - Charlotte, London

  • Fuerteventura was awesome thanks – surf was pretty good – fairly consistant and nice to be able to wear a shortie and not feel cold! Richie was great – definitely the best teaching I’ve had (compared to places in Morocco and Lanzerote) and got rid of most of my bad surfing habits, and was great at making sure we knew where everything was (tour round the town to point out restaurants etc was really helpful. Food in Corralejo (if I’ve learnt to spell it) was amazing and it was a good place to wander round, with good beaches around the town, and some nice chilled out bars (recommend banana bar). We kayaked to Lobos on our day off and snorkeled round the lagoons there – would definitely recommend it as a trip but it was hard work so you’d want to be fairly fit to enjoy it. The bungalow in la concha was great – nice size, kept really clean, and the cleaners were really friendly – nice pool too! It’s so close to the town but far enough away that it’s quiet too. Would definitley consider going back there and it’s not often I say that as there’s usually too many other places I want to visit! - Sarah, Southampton

  • I couldn't have asked for more. La Concha was exactly what I was looking for. A little relaxing paradise. Just beautiful place to relax after surfing. Corralejo was great too, once you escaped the touristy main area. Lovely little gems of cafes and restaurants. Richie was always helpful to recommend were best to go out for good food and I was never disappointed. The lessons were great. I already had given up all hope of ever being able to stand up, but Richie has given great individual advice and lessons and on day three I finally had my great moment. He also was really good at choosing the right beach for the condition and took great care and time explaining changing conditions, what is causing it and how to deal with it. I have learned so much this week and am already planning my next trip to Fuerteventura - Elke, Manchester

  • The holidays were great! Richie is a great instructor and accomodation at La Concha was fantastic! Thanks for everything! - Ana Maria, Madrid

  • La concha was great so was the surf , we both had an amazing time. Richie looked after us very well and was great craic.Definitly going back as soon as possible - Megan and Shannon, Dublin

  • We had a brilliant time- and would definitely both recommend the place, and consider returning.  We're off to Lahinch this Friday to put in a bit of practice!  We loved the Bungalows, and really enjoyed going to different beaches- over the course of the five days we were at three different spots.  Richie was a good instructor and great craic too.  I am improving albeit a bit slowly! Greg got on really well and got a chance to go "out the back" the last two days.  Also the restaurant recommendations were all brilliant. Thanks again for your friendly and prompt service! - Órlaith & Gregor, Dublin

  • Had a fabulous time in Fuerteventura. La Concha was lovely, it was a bit difficult getting hold of reception as it isn't constantly staffed. Richie was great, only a couple of days lacking good surf but still managed to get up on a board! I quite liked the place, a bit different to what I was expecting. Thanks for setting us up with such an awesome holiday, on the whole we had a great time! - Sharleen & Sarah, London

  • The complex was fine, nice and relaxed and the staff were very helpful. we did get good surf thankfully and we found Richie very profesional. we would consider going again so we'll start saving soon!! - Gordon & Deirde, Meath

  • Had a great time. The accommodation was good, it has everything that you need. They people who ran it kept it super clean and always were willing to help. The massage lady there was excellent also. The surf schooI was very thorough, Richies group sizes were excellent and he really made sure that he was helping all the time. Looking around at other groups I was glad I was in one with Richie. I felt safe and in good hands all the time.
I am keen to do another surfing holiday maybe in October  this year or June next year??  so if you have any suggestions...always looking to try something new!! Oh and citrus cafe was amazing!! - Kellie

  • We had a great time, from the moment Richie picked us up in the airport to the moment he dropped us back. The location of the surf camp is beautiful.  I had a great time. La Concha was great: very clean, friendly staff, lovely grounds and pool and very convenient. Richie did a brilliant job of looking after us. The surfing was fab, he's a great teacher. The waves were perfect for what we needed and the beaches were not too crowded.Fuerteventura is lovely and the weather amazing. Obviously it's got its nicer parts but we had some delicious food in the old town and good drinks just off the high street. We had a brilliant time, and are going to try and get a group out next year if possible! - Clare and Natalie, London

  • We had a great time in Fuerteventura, the surf was pretty nice but we wouldn't know any better being beginners. La Concha was lovely, I definitely prefer staying in smaller hotels and this one was so peaceful with the little pool and the birdcages and the turtles. We didn't take advantage of any of the yoga or massage treatments etc on offer though. Richie was great, very laid back, made sure we all knew when to meet for the lessons, wasn't too pushy while giving the lessons. Gave us directions and pointers with where we were going wrong and how to correct it. He also showed us around the town and recommended places to go for nightlife which was handy. - James & Amy, Inverness

  • Had an absolutely brilliant time in Fuerteventura.  Richie is a fantastic surf instructor and we learned loads from him – we are already trying to decide on a date to go back this year and do the camp  again! -  He took us to different beaches daily – wherever there was surf and we really progressed as the camp went on. La Concha is a fabulous place to stay – really nice, clean and cosy – would definitely recommend the surf holiday.  Corralejo is a lovely town – really cheap and some lovely places to eat – would definitely recommend Citrus bar/cafe as a place to eat – the food is really nice and quite cheap – can’t wait to go back again – John and Xena, Ireland

  • Everything was great, accommodation much better than we excepted-very clean and good standards. The Surfing was great, of course I have to mention that Richie is brilliant instructor!!! That part of Fuerteventura is fantastic, great restaurants(great value for money), nice bars and strong coctails:),  Keep it for yourself-we had much better time than in Lagos:) I will come back for more surfing! Take care - Kamil, Dublin

  • Only a block from the ocean, and close to the main high street and centro commercial, the apartments are about a 5mins walk to a supermarket for supplies etc. The grounds of La Concha are some of the best I’ve seen for apartments, very pretty, full of flowers, clean, tidy and tranquil - feels more residential and relaxed than the usual accommodation.  There are bird cages throughout the complex, and 2 swimming pools. Sun lounges, tables, chairs and a small washing line were provided on the outside of each bungalow. Inside the bungalows were the majority of the basics that you would require.  The beds were comfy enough. The bedroom had sheets, blankets, bedcovers, one pillow per bed, and 2 extra blankets.  There were no extra pillows provided which was a bit annoying as i like pillows :)  The hallway and living area were clean, girly in theme (lots of purple, yellow, white and flowery). Nice flat screen Tv but oinly had local and sports channels. All the shutters and doors worked fine. We surfed everyday with Richie bringing us to a few different beaches throughout the week. We really learnt a lot and having small class sizes really made a difference. It was a great week and we will be back soon i hope – Laura and Jamie, Bristol
